Molly Weasley - Queen of Wands

Queen of Wands from the Housewives Tarot These damn Tarot court cards can be so confusing! What's up with just people just standing there or siting in a chair? How the hell does that help me when it comes up in a reading?! Never fear tarot enthusiasts! Vix from New Age Hipster is here to solve all your tarot card meanings problems - in particular those darn court cards - by doing some simple Tarot/Pop Culture mash-ups!

And today in Pop Culture Tarot - Mrs Weasley as the Queen of Wands!

Everyone loves Molly Weasley. She's the coolest Mum around, and if you don't have a Mum around for whatever reason (Muggle/killed by Voldemort etc.) she'll happily take you in and bake you a bunch of banana muffins. She's warm and sweet and kind, but if you cross her or keep the flying car out too late - WOAH Nellie! - you'll be seeing her flashing around her Elemental fire balls like Wowzah! But then like two seconds later she'll make you a tea.

tumblr_ltugsdT01R1qahfo8o1_500

The Queen of Wands is the Elemental Queen - Elemental as in Fairies. The elementals are fiery, red headed, passionate creatures who live in a world of animals, nature and all that is wholesome. Think fairy houses, tiny doors in century old trees and oh, hey, The Burrow! They don't dig fast paced city life, concrete sky scrapers or fancy Asian fusion restaurants. Give them a pie and a hug and they're as happy as Larry.

Now you might be getting confused at this point - isn't Pentacles the Earth suit? Well, er, yes, technically, but Wands is the Fire suit! It's all about action, adventure, passion and not sitting around on your butt but no matter how comfy your hand knitted throw cushions are, if someone you love is in danger to hell with the muffins! Wands people grab the closest broomstick and beat the bad guy down! Fire spreads through Earth like... well, fire. While the Earth signs are solid, earthy and dependable, these Wands women will bake the best cake at the Hogwarts fair and tomorrow - save you from certain death! And do you know why? Because the Queen of Wands bloody well cares. She cares about nature, animals, family and she cares about those people in the world who are good, and she'll fight for what's right and good while other queens sit on their thrones delegating, making decisions or sending their boys to war. Not this Queen, she's out on the front line, protecting the realm of her Wands people.

tumblr_mgms1fy3eD1rxjmzdo1_500

Uh, OK, so every time you see the Queen of Wands are you going to read it as Mrs Weasley's coming over for tea? Not exactly, but you are going to have a pretty darn good idea of the archetype and what this card represents. All you need to do when the Queen of Wands pops up in your Tarot spread is think of Molly Weasley.

Queen of Wands/Mrs Weasley cheat sheet:

<3 loyal <3 warm <3 honest <3 family oriented <3 fiery <3 passionate <3 loving <3 loves nature and animals <3 keeps a cosy home <3 adopts children officially or unofficially <3 shouts a lot, but is never mean <3 has a temper! <3 looks like a fairy <3 possible red hair <3 fiery eyes! <3 bakes cookies <3 beats down baddies

So now you're probably thinking about of a bunch of people you know that could be a Queen of Wands type; your Mum, your cool boss at work, yourself, but what about the dreaded 'court card as a situation/outcome' meaning? OK - so you pull the Molly Weasley card when you're thinking about travelling - YES, buy your ticket! You pick the Molly Weasley card when you ask about a relationship - hrm, maybe stop throwing those fireballs huh?! The Molly Weasley card appears when you're asking about work stuff - hello, follow your passion! Doing a spread about your life purpose - easy peasy; the animals and the environment need you, get a job you believe in. Get it?!

Reversed I read her as too fiery or she's lost her passion. Totally unbalanced and unstable. Streaks of meanness may be present in a reversed Queen of Wands, or else she can sometimes be so busy looking after everyone in the end she forgets to look after herself and burns out.

Now you're cooking with gas! You'll never go blank on your Queen of Wands again!

Love, light and trouble-free tarot!

#Caturday cat card - Queen of Cups

[embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WvYIBPAFJ1E[/embed] Hi guys and welcome to #Caturday!

OK I did my video of only my hands because I couldn't be bothered to put on make up, but it's kind of sketchy. I mean why doesn't it focus on the card? And what's that shadow on the side? Yep, I still have a LOT to learn about YouTube.

But it's not about my dodgy video skills, it's about the message right?!

Today we are being reminded not to get too obsessed about our goals in life, whether it's work, love, money, whatever. It's good to have goals and to always be working towards stuff, but when we get too focused on the goal we miss out on enjoying the journey.

Think about what your ultimate work goal is right now. I have two huge ones right now - to be the next Stephanie Meyer or Doreen Virtue. OK so that's kind of crazy, and probably I don't really want to be that 'famous' because I'm actually pretty shy and stuff, but that's the ultimate goal - career and financial success through writing, helping others and creating some really cool stuff. So I can spend hours a day working on that (and I do!) but seriously I can give up all my weekends to work towards this goal (hang on I do that too!) and maybe I will get there! Yay! But once I get there, then what? Well by then I'll already be working towards the next thing right?!

By the time you achieve the goal you're thinking about today you'll already have like ten more goals you are working towards, so just stop for a second.

Breathe.

And remember to enjoy the journey. Because when you think about it, the journey is really all we'll ever have, everything else is just fleeting.

Sending you loads of love, light and trail mix for your journey,

Indiana Jones - Knight of Wands

He comes riding in on his horse to steal the golden crucifix because 'it belongs in a museum'! Here is your Knight in shining armour - the star of the Adventure genre!

Wands are the action cards and this Knight will do anything but sit at home like a potato on the couch. He has a day job but his evenings are spent researching, working or doing physical training while his weekends are mad adrenaline packed adventures! Relationships aren't really his forte, but that doesn't mean his heart isn't as good as gold, he's just busy looking for ancient artifacts, try not to take it personally. I'm sure you are pretty, but you aren't the Holy Grail.

His relationships with his family can be difficult, mostly because he doesn't stick around long enough to actually deal with any issues, not because he doesn't love them to bits really and he'd lay down his life to protect those he loves.

He's a quick mover, but he rides with purpose and in the direction of his goal. If you look at the other Knights in the tarot (we'll get to those guys I promise!) you'll see none of them has the same level of determination as this fiery, passionate Knight! He protects the realm, and he won't budge on what he believes to be good and right.

If you are in a relationship with this Knight, go easy on him. He's got a lot going on in that gorgeous head of his. He's got mysteries to solve and adventures to have and a nagging partner is going to send this guy packing quicker than you say 'ultimatum'. He's looking for an equal - someone who can share his adventures but also be just as content out having their own adventures!

If this card comes up in a reading for yourself it could be time to get a little more adventurous. Instead of planning another beach holiday look into volunteering in South America, or taking a vacay in the Amazon Rainforest! Shake up your life a little when you're in a rut and this card comes up. Do something crazy. Go out for impromptu mid-week drinks or say yes to that date with the weird guy.

This card tells you to channel your inner Indiana and re-ignite your passion! What are you really passionate about? Is there a cause or charity you want to advocate for? Are you passionate about the environment, history, spirituality, cup cakes?! Whatever it is, stick a stick under it and set it on fire!

Reversed this card can mean either Indiana Jones gone bad, or it could be a suggestion for you to calm down a little. Reversed the Knight of Wands suggests you need to find balance, or relates to someone who is unbalanced and flaky.

Adventures are great, but even Indiana Jones has a day job.

There are so many ways to read the tarot cards, and this is just one interpretation that works for me. I'd love to hear about how you read the Knight of Wands when it comes up for you in a reading. :-)

Love, light and archaeological adventures!

#Caturday cat card - Knave (Page) of Wands + Giveaway winners!

Happy (late!) Caturday everyone! Now before you freak out that you are reading this on a Sunday or any other day for that matter - remember #Caturday is not just for Saturday! This post and card is for you for whenever you read it, just like everything else on this blog is.

I had soooo much trouble getting the #Caturday video done this week. I'm wondering if it's because I did it outside and there was some elemental (fairy?!) force at play screwing around with my tech. Those fairies sure are jokers! But I got it done eventually and in it I talk about the cat card for this week; the Knave (aka the Page) of Wands!

The kitty Knave of Wands is super sure of himself and totally confident in his life. He's confident at both work and at play. I love the pyramids in the Wands cards, they always make me think of adventure and this kitty remains confident even when he's in the middle of a desert in Egypt! Wow, way to be awesome out of your comfort zone kitty!

Is there something you've been wanting to do or sign up for that you haven't because you just aren't feeling that comfortable about it? A crazy new dance class? What about learning Old Norse? Joining a meet up group or just going out for dinner on your own? Whatever it is this kitty tells you - GO FOR IT! All you need to do is stand up straight and be confident, because you can do these things, and we all know that getting outside of your comfort zone is when truly awesome things happen.

For me doing these YouTube videos is so waaaaay out of my comfort zone, but I do really feel like I'm supposed to share this stuff and what better way is there to share a message than through the mighty power of YouTube?

The winners of the Guardian Angel Tarot giveaway! *Drum roll....* are: @Oracle_aimee, @annamichaelis21 and Maureen Ricketts! You guys will be getting a mini 3 card reading with the new Doreen deck! Whoop! I pulled a couple of runners up for a free one card reading and they are: @thetarotinitiate and @rhythm12! In other news I'm going to be studying with the amazing Doreen Virtue this week at her London Angel Card Certification course! OMG SO MUCH EXCITE! The Week Ahead - Filling up!

10590413_693867610693967_3602375258438122113_n OK first of all, let's talk about my new deck! You know I'm obsessed with buying new decks right now and I need to find a way to control it, but this is a deck I've had a crush on for ages! The Art Nouveau Tarot by Matt Meyers from 1989. It's so 80's and I'm so in love with it! Maybe I should do a deck review?!

So what's going on this week? Well this Queen of Cups is different than the usual Rider Waite Queen who stares at her cup almost obsessively. Here we see a much more open Queen who looks like she wants to give us some of her water. But she can't give us anything if she doesn't fill her cup first... and that's the message for this week - we need to fill our cups!

So I've been cracking on with these free readings of which I still have nearly a hundred requests waiting for me in my inbox (thanks for your patience!) and although I am loving every minute of it I am totally stressed out that I'm taking too long and letting people down! But I'm getting the message now to slow down and look after myself first. So now I'm trying to do a quick reading for myself before I do readings for anyone else and put my study and practice first rather than as an after thought - you know, thinking I'll do the stuff for others first then if I've got time I'll do my own stuff.

I did a reading this week in which I saw this woman on a plane with children. I saw her having to put on her own oxygen mask before she assisted others. And that's so what we are needing to think about this week! You can't help others if you can't breathe!

A lot of us right now have a deep desire to help as many people as we can - family, friends, clients, people who read our blogs, whoever we can! We feel like we are never doing enough for others, that we could be doing so much more, and even feeling guilty when we don't feel like we're fulfilling our purpose...

But how can we fulfill anything when we are empty?!

Let's take a look at this Queen of Cups this week - she's giving, she's beautiful, she's strong and powerful, but if her bowl was empty she wouldn't be any of these things! (OK, maybe she'd sill be beautiful, she's practically a Barbie!)

So what can we do this week to fill up?! Well you know I'm seriously into lists right now so here's some ideas... :-)

<3 Take a bath - Queen of Cups - water - get it?!

<3 Drink tea! Oh we are so on the Cups vibe here...

<3 Take long showers

<3 Buy a new nail polish! Barry M is 3 free and 3 for 2 at Boots right now! Or paint your nails with the polish you already have!

<3 Watch your favourite TV show or a movie and don't feel guilty for doing it! Imagine sitting on your couch and the Universe is pouring love and light into your head while you zone out!

<3 Get a massage or get someone to give you one, or let the cat walk on your back. Haha!

<3 Get your hair done, or do it yourself!

<3 Make time to read a few chapters from that book on your bedside table

<3 Sit in the sun! (If you have any!)

<3 Have a beer or a wine and don't feel guilty! I know loads of us these days are all about the clean living, but come on, even Jesus had a tipple!

<3 Spend some time doing some tarot/angel readings for yourself! If you don't have the cards look for some blogs (like mine! Lol!) or other websites where you can get your fill! I really think that even if you look at old readings online that you can find exactly what you are supposed to in that moment. You might find some old posts on here that make sense to you in the moment!

<3 Take a selfie and revel in the 'WOW you so PRETTY/SEXY' comments

<3 Write a list of all your good features

<3 Write a letter to your 12 year old self telling her or him how amazing their life is going to be

<3 Book a holiday or a pretend Pinterest holiday

<3 Make a vision board or do some scrapbooking

<3 Clean out your closet and give old stuff to charity

<3 Make or order your favourite dinner and eat seconds

<3 Dance around your bedroom!

<3 Do whatever you need to do to 'fill up'!

And once we find the balance between filling up and pouring out we'll be like those guys who play the bagpipes doing circular breathing; they don't stop to think about if they are breathing in or out, it just happens.

Love, light and glasses full,

Vix

#Caturday cat cards - Eight of Wands

10622771_693352757412119_4922404642821616687_n I don't know about you guys, but sometimes I feel like I'm working so damn hard. Thinking, planning, working on projects, blogs, writing novels, just like doing stuff in the hopes that one day I'll find some kind of success in something and make a difference to the world!

So a lot of the time I'm looking at the computer screen, or at my feet feeling dejected about the fourth rejection in my inbox from a literary agent (OK, so that's still way less than J.K Rowling), or I'm bummed out watching the Almighty Johnsons (please watch this show, it's amazing!!) because only like one person looked at my blog yesterday even though I spent ages typing up what I thought was a killer post!

But the Eight of Wands reminds us this #Caturday that just because we can't see the movement doesn't mean things aren't happening for us. Maybe my agent hasn't joined the agency yet. Maybe there are lessons to learn and blocks to bust before I can experience what society tells me is this thing called 'success'.

Maybe if we all just stopped feeling so glum about nothing happening we could look up from our falling apart leopard print Converse sneakers and see that things are happening around us all the time in the cosmic web of life we all weave and none of us can see it all! There is so much going on right now that affects us that we are so completely unaware of. Like right now someone somewhere might be packing up the ready meal that you are going to eat next week and you'll probably never even think about them...

So today let's take a breath and remember that so much good stuff is happening around you all the time even when you are feeling totally bummed, and you can never feel too totally bummed if you go look at some clouds.

Love, light and flying wands! <3

The Week Ahead - Old robes vs Kardashian wardrobes

photo 1 (7) Another weekly reading brought to you by the suit of coins. Sorry! Last week we had the lovely tea and chat with the angels, but guess what? It's back to being kicked in the butt - no cookies on the table today!

So the question this week is - are we spending money in alignment with our higher selves? I bought some clothes on ASOS the other day, maybe I didn't really need them. Maybe I should be living a holy life in scratchy robes and old sandals. Argh! But we can't live in robes and sandals on this planet right now, not unless we go off the grid at least. In my life right now I live in a city and I work in a public place and there's a dress code. I'm not even allowed to wear sandals.

So where do we draw the line between dressing like a monk and spending like a Kardashian? How do we know how much is OK and how much is too much? Obviously our bank accounts can give us some advice about that, but using how much is in your bank account to gauge how much you can spend leads you to doing what I did last month - nearly hitting zero!

So the real question here is how do we get into alignment with 'good' spending?! Right, let's pull another card...

photo 2 (8)

Looks like we need to put our purchases on the metaphorical scale of spending Justice!

Imagine on one side of the scale sits your glowing gorgeous higher self (a mini version, obviously your higher self is bigger than can fit on a scale!) and on the other put your purchases. Do they balance out? Is your ASOS shopping spree too heavy?! Is your once a month 50p charity shop buy a little too light?!

We can also think of our higher self as a 'person' and ask them what they think of our purchases too - hold up that shirt to your higher self in the changing room and see if she/he nods or shakes her/his head. Before clicking on 'purchase' look over at your higher self standing over by the pot plant, are they giving you that look? Or are they nodding with approval - after all your higher self wants you to feel good right?! It's OK to buy stuff that will make you feel good, but spending money on crap you don't even like doesn't make you feel good!

Put your purchases on the scale and see how they line up this week! I'd love to know if this resonates and works for you guys and I'll be reporting back on my progress at this at the end of the week! :-)

In other weekly news - I still have loads of free 3 card readings to give away so hook it up if you haven't already! I've finally put up a page of Praise featuring some of the amazing and wonderful feedback I've had so far and I've started putting up some links to some of the amazing people out in the world who have helped me so much on my journey so far, check them out! One of whom is the lovely Louise Androlia who I met yesterday at her wonderful double energy + surrender workshop which I'll be blogging about in the next few days. :-)

Love, light and weighing in the spending!

#Caturday cat cards - Two of Pentacles

photo (41)

This #Caturday we come across this guy who's doing a bit of a juggling act. This kitty is holding onto two coins and seems kind of unaware of the sea and ships behind him. He's got lots on his mind trying to keep those two coins from falling, you can't totally blame him for not seeing what else is going on around him.

We might be doing our own little juggling act this weekend. I'm sick with a cold which totally sucks and I kind of feel like this kitty right now - I'm trying to rest and get better but there's so many other things I'm thinking about!

This kitty is a message for us today to focus on one thing at a time, whether it's resting when you are sick, putting away your phone when you're on a date or out with friends, or even - and this is something I always do - checking the IMDB app on your phone while watching a movie. I mean do you really have to know what that guy is from?! Can't you just enjoy the movie and look it up later? At the very least, pause the movie while you do it!

If you're super busy this weekend and don't even have time for a movie then you can also make a to do list. It sounds seriously lame, but I swear by them (when I actually do them!). It's a good quick way to work out which jobs are important, what can wait, and when you tick everything off you have the rest of the day to yourself instead of procrastinating about everything and still having to do it all tomorrow.

On another note, I haven't been able to do any free readings in the last few days and I know there's a couple waiting in my inbox. Hopefully my head will be clearer tomorrow or at least by Monday so you should get your reading then if you are waiting, I apologise for the delay! If you would like a free reading please go to 100 Free Readings and sign up. Simple as that! I've been really thrilled at the response so far and so thankful for the wonderful feedback. :-)

Love, light and putting your phone down!

The week ahead - We are the world

photo (37) I don't know about you, but I've been feeling a deep sadness about the world this last week. The plane crash in the Ukraine, the events taking place in Israel, children dying of cancer... the world is a dark place at times and it's feeling very heavy right now.

I had a little trouble pulling a card this week. I pulled The World card for us this week from my new Housewives Tarot deck, then put it back, pulled a couple that didn't feel right and then pulled The World again. Perhaps at first glance I didn't want to have to write about something so full on so I tried to avoid it. But that's the thing about tarot, and life too, you can't just avoid the things you don't want to deal with.

This week I feel we are being guided to think about 'The World'. The imagery here shows a very closed minded view of the world, a bubble, the parts of the world that affect us directly in our everyday lives. What are we having for dinner? What's the earliest we can leave work so we don't get stuck in traffic? How many days until the weekend? We often get so caught up in ourselves and our world bubble around us that we don't always think about the fact that our home isn't just our flat, or our house with the white picket fence. The whole planet is our home.

OK I'm getting way too emo, but I really think this week is a good time to meditate (whatever that means to you!) on the world, and that we are, quite literally it. We can sit around and moan about the state of things, but we are the state of things. We are the world.

I don't want anyone to fall into a pit of despair, after all there is so much beauty here on Earth and so many amazing people who want to share love, joy and happiness and so much to live for, but sometimes I think we need to step out of our bubble and put it all into perspective. But instead of getting frustrated or just ignoring the problems on the planet we need to really think about what we can do to help make the world a better place.

In our everyday lives we need to interact positively, we need to be the light and spread the love and joy to others. But when looking at the big picture it might be a good week to donate whatever you can afford to a charity, watch a documentary and educate ourselves, send some positive vibes to the parts of the world that need it most, or even just have a good cry and release some of this pent up frustration that so many of us have been feeling lately.

I like to think that my blog is a really happy positive lighthearted kind of place, so I'm sorry to go on a downer today.

But that's the world.

Love, light and healing tears,

x
