Mercury Retrograde Reading and Spread! x

Mercury Retro Spread by New Age Hipster x

Y'all know how I feel about Mercury Retrograde, and if you don't you can check out the post I wrote about it last time it hit here. Basically, I love it. I've hated on M.R for way too long and it's kind of only made it worse, so my vibe nowadays is to embrace the planets and work with them. Isn't it time we all got along?!

One of the best ways to get through any tricky planetary things is to take a look at what's going on for you around these times and pulling cards is awesome for that!

To help y'all out I'm doing SUPER CHEAP Mercury Retro readings over on my Etsy Store which you can grab at any time during the retro! These are a total bargain and as of November my readings are going to be increasing in price so seriously, get in now while I'm cheap! x

I thought I'd share a spread with you here too, so you can take this Mercury Retrograde as an opportunity to play around with your own decks, practice your craft and do some readings for yo'self. It might be a great time to get out one of those decks you hardly ever use, or a new deck that's been sitting on your shelf waiting for just this moment!

You can pull these in any order, use any kind of Tarot or Oracle deck and do whatever you want with it to suit yourself. But here's the basics to get you crackin'!

Here's one I made earlier, with the Russian Tarot of St Petersburg. x

Your M.R Theme

This is your personal Mercury Retrograde theme for the next few weeks. What does this M.R want you focus on? It could be a project, some personal or spiritual dev stuff, or any other message relating to the big picture of this M.R for you.

Subconscious blocks

What blocks and stuff needs releasing that you aren't even aware of? It could be something you thought was gone long ago, something new you'd never even thought about, or something you've been trying to ignore. It's time to take a look at those suckers!

What has been released

This is when you get to celebrate what you have released over the last few weeks, months or even years! This is the universe saying YAY you, look how far you've come, you've released this you can totally keep going!

Mental blocks

What's going on in your thinking that's holding you back? What old thoughts, old thought patterns and old crushes do you need to sweep out? Negative beliefs about yourself, others and your life, or whatever else is clanging around in there that you don't need, say bai bai now!

Your lessons

What can you learn from this Merc-Ret? We always seem to learn sooooo much when we allow ourselves to be open to lessons at this time instead of just posting memes about how much Mercury sucks. Mercury Retrograde is like that teacher you had that was always hassling you and giving you extra homework, but afterwards you're like - wow, I learned so much from her.

Share your spreads on Instagram if you wanna with the #newagehipster hashtag!

Come check out the video I did for our combined conscious energies too!

And if you really wanna make the most of your Mercury Retrograde you may wanna come join us for Woo Woo School! Whoo!

Love, light and happy Retrograding!

How to forget FOMO! 5 affirmations for your bathroom mirror x

Zorro always gets FOMO when he can't go outside. x

Zorro always gets FOMO when he can't go outside. x

FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) has always been a thing. I remember living in Edinburgh way before we were all addicted to our iPhones and I was always having serious FOMO every time my friends who didn't work during the day went off and did something without me while I was at work. URgh!

But now we have iPhones (YAY!) so when your friends go off and do cool stuff while you're at work, or school, or stuck at home or whatever, instead of just being a bit grumpy, you are literally faced with their good time. They might even tag you in it. OMG how annoying!!

But there's another type of FOMO too - the one where you look at what other folks are doing with their lives and feel really lame about your own life. How did she get a book deal? How did she get such a hot boyfriend? You know the drill.

Affirmations are bloody brilliant and totally underrated in my opinion. Yes they are dorky, but they work. Seriously. Especially for stuff like FOMO! Here's five that work wonders for me, I hope they help you too! (You can totally rework these into your own voice if my #newagehipster lingo doesn't float your boat!)

This moment is seriously freaking awesome!

The thing about FOMO is that we start to think that somewhere else and some other moment is better than the one we are having right now. But hang on for a second. You are alive, you are breathing, you actually exist here on this crazy planet, I mean seriously, who cares if you're on the couch or out at Glastonbury Festival? It's freaking amazing that you're even here! So whoooooooop! Celebrate your life man.

I totally respect, trust and honour my own rad journey

When we get down on where we're at it's because we don't trust what's going on for us. Look back at your life journey thus far. Has it not been incredible? Have wonderful things happened? Are you in a better place now than ever before? Can you see that more awesome things are heading your way?! Of course you can, and if you can't, come get a reading and we'll find them

I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be

If you were supposed to be at that bar hanging out with Kit Harington you would be. Maybe you're just meant to meet him later, when he's ready for you you know? Like when he's finished working through all his "stuff".

Everyone is on their own journey

Remember that an IG pic doesn't really tell you much about someone's life. One pic of a fancy salad doesn't mean that person lives like that all the time. You don't know that they didn't have a dirty burger and a pint for their main course! And you don't know what other people are going through in their offline lives. Other folks are probably looking at your social media and having FOMO over you!

I give and receive, I love and I am loved in equal measure

What other people have that you're all jelly of is just a clue to what you want! Instead of throwing neg vibes at the folks who have what you have, how about working for it to happen in your own life? Click like and comment nice things on the stuff that gives you FOMO and start focusing more on creating your dream life and less on someone else's dinner.

Love, light and lipstick affirmations!

My Tarot Story -Timelines and Tarot Cards x

Rider Waite Smith deck for the win, Yo. x

Rider Waite Smith deck for the win, Yo. x

Sooo, this post is coming to you as part of a Tarot Jam Blog Hop that the gorgeous Shonna from Ace of Stars Tarot has organised for all us Tarot bloggers out there! YAY Shonna! It's my first blog hop so I don't really know what I'm doing. I think I'm supposed to do something like this:

Previous Post - your link to the fab Deirdre Doran of Willow Path Tarot

Next Post - your link to my grrl crush Carrie from Happy Fish Tarot, you can find out what she eats on her Pizza here

The Master List - is your link to all the peeps so you can blog hop to your heart's content!

And so what's this blog hop all about? It's a chance for us Tarot bloggers and vloggers to tell our Tarot Stories, and so this is mine...

My Tarot story is actually pretty long and really complicated. I could probably write a novel, or more like a trilogy about the whole thing, but in the interest of keeping this short and sweet I thought I'd tell my story via Timelines and Tarot Cards!

Six of Cups

When I was little my granddad told me some really cool stories about ghosts. He told me about people in our family who could see ghosts, and I remember being really excited about the idea that that I could see something like that. It was my first conversation (in this life, that I can remember!) about ghosts and woo woo stuff.

Nine of Swords

As a kid I was always talking to "God" and wanting to know answers. I had an imaginary friend for a while who seemed pretty real to me. I was pretty creative and imaginative and open to the idea of ghosts, but when I heard a ghost in the house talking to my cat when I was about 10, it totally freaked me out! I think this is when I decided that being open to “this stuff” was a bit too freaky and began to zip up my third eye, like so many of us do.

Page of Cups

I was always divining for answers long before I had a Tarot deck. When I was a kid I used to write answers on bits of paper, put them in a bag and pull them out. I flipped coins. I wrote yes and no on opposite sides of my eraser and threw it in the air to make decisions. I made fortune teller things out of paper. I did numerology love percentages. I played those games in my head "if I get this in the bin it means the teacher won't check my homework tomorrow". I invented all sorts of bizarre divination games. Tarot for me was never about Tarot, it was more like finding a way to do all this stuff I'd always done a lot more easily and accurately.

Three of Cups

It was the 90's when I was in high school so I joined a coven. I got really into Wicca and crystals, and runes and all that good stuff. I was a dabbling kind of Pagan, Wiccan, New-Ager type for many years, frequenting crystal shops, reading all the books, and I think I may have even had some kinds of card decks, but I can't remember if I had a Tarot deck, which sounds pretty weird, but it's because of what happened next...

The Heirophant

Towards the end of high school I became a born again Christian and I burned all my Wicca and New Age books in a fire on a hill and renounced the false idols! I remember burning books about witchcraft, spell books, and I put my runes on the fire, but I don't remember if there were Tarot or Oracle cards involved. It was a strange but very interesting time in my life.

Four of Wands

Fast forward another couple of years and going out clubbing began to be way more interesting than going to church, and it felt hypocritical to do both, so I chose clubbing. Oh yeah, and also that bit about how everyone who wasn't a Christian was going to hell, that always kind of didn't totally resonate y'know? So I left the church, keeping Jesus with me as a teacher and guide but letting the rest go.

The Fool

It wasn't too long before I began to be drawn back into the New-Age spiritual world, heading back to the crystal shops and even buying my very first (maybe!?) Tarot deck – the Hanson Roberts Tarot. I bought the Idiots Guide to Tarot and my deep love for Tarot was born. For the next ten years I read for myself and friends with some pretty awesome results.

Two of Swords

I was in a total funk with work stuff, so I bought a Tarot reading off Etsy. The reading was pretty terrible. It was full of typos and spelling mistakes, except the parts that were very obviously cut and pasted from the internet. Oh yeah, and it didn't even answer my question! When I told one of my friends about it she was like "you are so good at reading cards, you should trust your own readings". *Light bulb moment!*

High Priestess

One day shortly after that reading, I just like, “got” Tarot. I stopped “reading the cards” and started to read intuitively. When I felt like actually I wasn't bad at this, I did 100 free readings before I charged any money for my services, and then, I started up my little Etsy Shop, and my Tarot and Woo Woo Blog became my business!

Eight of Pentacles

And so now here I am, working my butt off on making New Age Hipster a thing, doing readings for gorgeous souls, teaching e-courses on how to be woo woo, and generally just vibing high and loving life as a Tarot pro!

The Sun

And this is where we're headed, and actually we are already well on our way! Bringing Tarot back into the light, making it mainstream, shining bright as we remind others that Tarot is not a creepy scary dark thing, it's just art. It's just signs. It's just like spotting a billboard with the message you needed, but it's in your back pocket

Tarot is a tool that has helped me to develop my intuition, that allows me to help others, to see what's going on for people and to help folks make decisions for their highest and best good. Tarot cards are bloody marvellous! They are beautiful, accurate divination tools and one of my favourite things on the planet. But if all the Tarot cards disappeared, we'd be OK. We'd make our own decks out of bits of paper, or flip coins, or just use our imaginations to come up with crazy systems that help us tap into those parts of our brain, our divine connection, and deep within ourselves to help us find the answers that we're looking for. After all, where do you think Tarot cards came from?

What Tarot card or cards represents your Tarot journey? Where are you right now and where are you headed? We don't just use Tarot to show us the potential future, we can also use it to help us create it. ;-)

Love, light and Tarot Hop Timelines!

How to read Reversed Tarot cards

How to read reversed tarot cards with Vix from New Age Hipster! x

Don't flip out over reversed Tarot cards! Reading reversals is as easy as gluten free vegan pumpkin pie. Let me share with you 5 super quick and awesome ways to turn your 78 card deck into a deck of 156! Oooh!

1. Don't read reversals

One pretty simple way to read reversed cards is not to read reversed cards. If they come out reversed, just turn them upright. A lot of really awesome readers don't read reversals, and hey, if the idea doesn't float your boat, and your all upright readings are pretty rockin', don't rock the boat. Keep doing what you're doing and I'll catch up with you later.

2. read the opposite of the upright meaning

Now I read intuitively, so my upright meanings change quicker than I change my scrunchie, but if you have a bunch of key words that work for you, then just go for the opposite when you see it upside down. If the Sun means optimism, reversed it means pessimism. If the Four of Swords means take time out, reversed it may mean get off your butt. Get it?

3. Flow versus stuck

Sometimes I see reversed cards as a stuck or stagnant kind of energy. The Death card reversed is the perfect example of this. When you are refusing to let go and move on, the Death card reversed may come up. Ace of Wands reversed may suggest you need to be open to the opportunities coming your way, and the Ace of Cups, hello! Open up your heart to love! Yay!

4. Potentials

Whenever I see a reversed card I always think - hey it's reversed, but the card is still here. If you see the Lovers reversed it's not necessarily a sign that your love life is in total ruin. It could just be that you aren't realising the full potential of this situation! I think you can totally turn your cards upright by busting any blocks or limiting beliefs! Double YAY!

5. Shuffle again or see it as a challenge

Sometimes if I get like ALL reversed cards in a spread - even like a three card spread I'll throw them all back in and shuffle again. Depends how I'm feeling, or what's going on for my client. Sometimes you can work with a hand of reversed cards, sometimes you're just not in the mood, LOL! But then, all reversed cards can offer us a challenge if we're up for it. If you want to fast track clearing out your "stuff", then use those reversed cards to your advantage!

Check out the vid below for even more tips and tricks and chats about reading reversals!

Love, light and loads of flipping fun!

How to Find your Life Purpose

I've been doing a lot of Life Purpose readings lately for lovely souls who are struggling to find some direction in life. It feels like so many of us right now are walking the planet right now knowing we are supposed to be doing something really important but what is it?! Maybe it's a gen Y thing, but I kind of think it's because yeah, you do have a really awesome reason to be here, it's just that you don't know what it is... yet!

I spent a really, really long time looking for my purpose, so I get it, and I thought I'd share with you here some of the things I've learned along the way...

You were totally given clues!

I think part of the journey is about working it all out. If they wanted us to know what our purpose was, we'd have known when we were kids right? But maybe we actually had a better idea of what we came here to do when we were kids.

What did you want to be when you were little? I wanted to be a pop star. You might look at what I'm doing now as being pretty far away from being a pop star, but actually, it's similar in many ways. I get to be creative, wear sparkly clothes, meet lots of new people, make videos that people all the world see on YouTube, and share my message with loads of people! Six year old Vix would be pretty happy with that I think! ...so what did you want to be

Some other clues you can think about are the things you really like to do. What would you do all day for free if you could? Maybe you can't do that exact thing, but there may be a clue in there for you somewhere.

Your life purpose is way more broad than you think

I don't believe my life purpose is "to be a tarot reader". I do believe my life purpose in a super broad sense is to help others, be of service, be creative, be in joy and spread joy. I think most of us who are interested in finding out more about our life purpose came here with a desire to help in some way, to learn, grow, and experience life. On top of that we have extra things that are specifically for us. Travelling, writing, spiritual stuff like tarot, helping animals, being a healer, a teacher (of any kind!) or experiencing romantic love (OooOoooh!), or hey, maybe it's all of the above, I know mine is!

Take some time to think or journal about what you think your life purpose is in a really, really broad sense. I could make mine as big and broad as being happy and making others happy.

Whatever you do with that is up to you. I totally believe that how I make others happy is up to me. Right now I'm choosing to do it through New Age Hipster, but even though this idea may have been a divine intervention, I decided to make it happen.

Your life purpose is not your job

Your life purpose is so much more than what you do to pay the rent. Yes, having a job that's in alignment with your purpose certainly is a good feeling, but so many of us on the planet right now just need to focus on paying our bills. That doesn't mean you can't be living your purpose. When I was teaching I was always cracking jokes, doing silly dances and trying to make my lessons as fun as possible. When I worked in a donut shop I used to crank Britney Spears songs out the back and teach my co workers the dances from the video clips in-between customers. Now I'm making people happy by doing quirky, fun and empowering readings for people and making videos of myself opening boxes. It's not about the job you do, it's how you do it.

And then, when you get home, make time for some awesome creative projects, hobbies, learning, whatever it is that your soul longs for!

You don't find your life purpose you create it

Once you work out your super broad purpose is, what you do with it has more to do with you creating it, than finding it. It's taken me a really long time to realise this. I spent so many years wandering about waiting for my purpose to just turn up. I was the total stereotypical drama student waiting to be discovered. Stop waiting to be discovered by your purpose and go out and create it!

The thing is, when you tell the Universe what you think your life purpose is, usually you are right, and then the Universe, your Guides and Angels are like - "oh thank God she's worked it out" and they all start helping you on your way.

Sometimes you'll change course, and sometimes you'll change your mind, and that's totally fine too. Your purpose is fluid, not set in stone

What do you think your purpose is? What do you want your purpose to be? That's the ultimate clue!

If you're still stuck

Don't freak out. There are so many things you can do to help you get clearer on your purpose and start making steps towards it.

You can get a reading with me, or pull some cards of your own. Doreen Virtue has a fun deck called the Life Purpose Oracle Cards, or you can use whatever deck you've got. I did a life purpose reading with Crystal cards the other day and it was totally awesome!

Do some journalling and brainstorming. Take some time out to write about all the things you like doing and the things that are close to your heart. Write down jobs you could do, hobbies you want to take up, interests and classes to peruse and books you want to read.

And finally...

Finding your life purpose is not the destination, it's just another part of the journey.

Remember that right now you are exactly where you are supposed to be, and if you haven't found your purpose yet, enjoy looking for it.

Some of the best days of my life were ones where I sat in coffee shops all over the world with my best friend, where we talked about how we had no idea what we wanted to do with our lives, and secretly, even though we've found our purposes now, we still have many more dreams and purposes still to come

 Love, light and big dreams,

Vix

How to be Spiritual on a Budget

There are times in our lives when we are abundant in love, but a little cash poor. Perhaps you are waiting for your abundance truck to come in, or maybe you are in a crazy awesome mega money flow. Whatever your situation in the bank, getting a good deal can still feel darn good!

So for those of you out there who love a discount as much as I do, I thought I'd share with you some of my favourite free things and super cheap ways to keep your spiritual cup full, even when you are living off beans and white bread.

Inspiration for your ears

There are sooooo many free spiritual podcasts on iTunes! There are loads of free Gabrielle Bernstein lectures to listen to and my personal fave - The Psychic Teachers. And if you check out our neighbourhood Passion Junkie Fab's podcast you might even find an interview with me on there! :-O I could write a whole post about podcasts, because I love so many of them, but just go check them out for yourself and see what you find! There is soooo much totally free spiritual goodness to be had on iTunes!

Free Meditations

YouTube is so good for free meditations! I LOVE Neil Cooper's Meditations and also came across the lovely Ros recently who has really seriously awesome Angel Meditations! Hay House Presents also have an awesome playlist of meditations featuring totally free meditations with gorgeous and amazing peeps like Doreen Virtue and James Van Praagh!

Free Yoga

If you are looking for some amazing free Yoga videos on YouTube you can't go past Yoga with Adriene!

CRYSTALS

Don't think you have to spend a small fortune on a cute necklace just because a certain stone is resonating with you right now. Part of the reason I wear chip bracelets all the time is because they are uber cheap! But even cheaper are regular plain old tumble stones. Pop them in your pocket, or even hide them in your bra! You can grab tumble stones from any new age shop, gift shop or even some museums have them too! Etsy have loads and lots of peeps are popping them into special bags to make searching for what you need a whole lot easier!

These babies cost between just 25p and a couple of quid each! x

These babies cost between just 25p and a couple of quid each! x

Cheap books

There are a few ways I get my super cheap spiritual books. When something comes on my radar I check out Amazon and go straight to the used prices. If you don't mind a few dog ears and marks on your cover you can get amazing things for as little as ONE penny! I'm not even joking! Plus postage, but that still only brings your book up to £2.81! I've found books on healing, Doreen Virtue books for 1p and there's even some brand new books for only 22p! But buying second hand is good for the planet, good for the trees and good for your pocket too! Add books to your wishlist on Amazon and then check back later because the prices often go even further down!

If you really do prefer your books brand new, or you can't find what you want second hand, check out Wordery and Book Depository. They ship anywhere in the world for FREE and often have cheaper prices too! I just bought a book on Wordery for £7.16 that had a recommended retail of £16.99! BARGAIN ALERT!!

Charity shops often have spiritual books tucked away in their non-fiction sections. Just this week I scored a Marianne Williamson book for £1! A bargain and it helps charities too! YAY!

This awesome book was only £1.61! OMG! YES! And it's a pretty good read too!

This awesome book was only £1.61! OMG! YES! And it's a pretty good read too!

FREE WEEKLY READINGS

Head over to Doreen Virtue's channel for an Angel Reading or hit up the New Age Hipster channel! Even though these readings aren't totally personalised to you, you'll find that certain words will grab you, some cards will feel like they are just for you and they will also help you make sense of the energies around you. Great for you if you can't grab a personal reading just now.

FREE PERSONALISED READINGS

Many readers, such as myself, offer occasional giveaway readings, and other random freebies so make sure you follow the readers you like on InstagramFacebook and Twitter so you are the first to see when these things happen. Every time I do a deck review I ask my FB peeps for a question so I can include in my video how the cards work for a reading. You can see one I did for the lovely Gracy! The reading starts at 17:17.

Cheap Decks

There is a lot of talk about second hand decks being bad juju. I was on that bandwagon myself, but after I found The Angel Oracle Deck for just 29p on Amazon I changed my tune about that. The deck had barely been touched and I do totally think that deck was meant to come to me! Recycling is super important these days, so if you see an awesome second hand deck don't freak, you are just doing some spiritual recycling! Also check Ebay for a bargain deck too - especially hard to find decks! I got the Art Nouveau Tarot for about £20 on Ebay a little while ago and it's now going for £75! Keep your eyes peeled for a bargain!

Not a bad for 29p! Just one of the cards in the Angel Oracle deck by Ambika Wauters. x

Candles and other bits

We can't all afford to kit out our altar with stuff from the local Crystal store. I often buy scarves and tablecloths from charity shops or Etsy! Incense is pretty cheap, you can even check pound stores to find it even cheaper. I found this cool picture of Mother Mary for a couple of quid in a pound store! Don't worry about spending loads on candles either, a few home brand tea lights or a couple of white pillars from IKEA can look just as awesome as anything you spent a bucket-load on! Again check out charity stores for brick-a-brack bits like candle-holders! And if you want some images to stick around the place, save them from Pinterest and then print them off at work (haha, I didn't tell you to do that! :-P ) and stick them around your spiritual areas!

Cosmic Tarot from Wordery, Candle holder from charity shop! x

You can literally spend NO money and still be a total spirit junkie these days, and for just a couple of quid you can get yourself a deck and some books!

May the metaphysical force be with you bargain hunters. Please come over to Facebook and share your bargains with us all too!

Love, light and bargain shopping!

Girl Crush Pyjama Party with Rebecca Campbell!

PJ Party Rebecca Campbell

OMG Rebecca Campbell, the Queen of the Lightworkers is coming over! Grab the vacuum and give me a hand to clean this place up! YIKES!

Rebecca Campbell is a HUGE girl crush of mine, and probably yours too! She's a kaftan wearing, soul inspiring, spirit soaring, total hottie! Oh yeah, and she's also a Hay House Author and wrote this pretty great book called Light is the New Black that you may have heard me raving about, only like, ALL THE TIME because it's AWESOME!

So, Bec, what kind of music do you want at the pyjama party?

The Staves, Laura Shera, Mumford and Sons, Florence and the Machine, Amy Firth and Ben Lee.

What pyjamas are you going to wear?

I’ll be the one in a slip my mum made for me, fluffy socks and a pink nanna blanket wrapped around me ;)

So cosy! So like, how do you make money to pay for those cool pyjamas and all your awesome clothes and make up and stuff?

What I love doing most is writing in nature. I wrote all of my first book Light Is The New Black with the flowers of Regents Park. I’m a total nature girl.

When I’m not frolicking amongst the flowers I’m doing readings or spiritual mentoring and encouraging Lightworkers to come out of the spiritual closet and work out what their soul is calling them towards.

I’m working on some online courses at the moment and do workshops, events, and urban retreat days too!

WOW, you sure are busy! How did you get that job?

I followed the call of my soul and leaped a lot.

What fun stuff do you like doing on school nights?

I’m a total home-body. Most nights I have a nice dinner (total foodie), pouring a bath and reading one of my ten books that I have on the go, or watching a good US drama TV Series.

How about on the weekend?

If I don’t have an event on I’m probably drenching myself in nature, eating great food, doing a course (total course junkie) or traveling somewhere new. I love the perspective and inspiration that travelling to new lands sparks. I’m also a water baby and so any possible moment I get to get to the ocean I take it.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

A writer and teacher who is grounded in her work and creations.

Where do you buy your super cute outfits?

I’m a kaftan lover. I tend to get these in Oz in the sales.

What are your favourite beauty products?

Absolute Rose Oil, my homemade own sea salt and coconut body scrub, Red Roses Perfume by Jo Malone and I have an Epsom salt bath several times a week.

Hmmm that scrub sounds so good! Who does your hair?

My old housemate Amy at Viva Soho.

I'm getting hungry! What's your favourite pyjama party food and beverages?

Popcorn and anything with bubbles… Verve anybody?

Oh and these amazing Raw Chocolate Pie things with Pink Himalayan Salt made in Cornwall… seriously beyond.

OMG NOMS! Favourite pizza topping?

I’m pretty simple, margharita and chilli flakes for me…. But gotta be from a proper Italian place. I try and stay clear of gluten and diary where possible, so if I’m eating pizza I make it worth it ;)

OMG I LOVE chilli flakes on Pizza too! Favourite high school movie?

Murial’s Wedding – best movie ever.

Agreed! It's getting late so we have to tell ghost stories! Do you believe in ghosts?

Absolutely.

Have you ever had a spooky or paranormal encounter?

Yep loads! My first was when traveling in Scotland when I was a teenager. My most recent was in Merlin’s Cave in Cornwall a couple of days ago.

What do you think happens when we die?

I’m in awe of the mystery of it. When I feel into it I feel that we return to oneness and by that I mean we don’t have the duality that Earth has. The ego/mind and body is no more but our soul lives on. I believe we also learn and devote ourselves to be of service in between lives, and that we choose to incarnate on different planets aside from this one.

Who do you think you were in a past life?

High Priestess of Avalon and Isis, a hard working farmer in China, an Essene Mystic in Palestine, a Sufi poet in Jordan and a witch (wise woman) in the middle ages/burning times.

What time do you usually go to bed?

11ish… but it should be earlier.

What do you want to do tomorrow?

Girl Crush Pyjama Party with Tamara AKA WolfSister!

Tamara from Wolf Sister and Vix from New Age Hipster Girl Crush PJ Party

I'm so thrilled to have the gorgeous Tamara AKA Wolf Sister over this week for a PJ Party! I adore this woman, her energy is so high vibe it's ridonkulous! (Do people still say ridonkulous?) She's a Shamanic Practitioner, Potion Maker (I totally heart Wolf Juice!) and a Tarot Reader too! But most of all she is just a gorgeous soul, a lovely light being and the perfect pal to eat pizza with!

OMG Tamara!! I'm so excited to have you here at my party, how excited are you?!

I'm heaps excited! I love pyjama parties.

What kind of music are we going to have at the pyjama party?

Spice Girls, Beyonce, TLC…. Anything with girl power vibes please.

#GirlPower! I'm going to wear my Hello Kitty PJs, what pyjamas are you going to wear?

One of my favourite oversize t shirts and some tropical shorts.

What fun make up or beauty products are in your overnight bag?

I've packed my festival make up bag with glitter, sparkles and face paint so we can be Unicorn maidens…

Oh, and my Dr Organics Aloe Vera Eye Gel in case we stay up late and I've got puffy eyes in the morning - it's one of my essentials.

Unicorn Maidens for life! Who does your hair?

Mostly me! I'm a qualified hairdresser but if I can't do it myself then I get one of my lovely friends at Toni & Guy (Chelmsford) to help make my hair look pretty.

And what hairstyle would you have if you could have anything? (I'd totally have an 80's perm!)

If I could have anything then I would bleach all of my hair and dye it different shades of Lavender, then I'd have it cut into a long bob! That would be my ultimate dream hair.

That sounds soooo coool! Where do you get all those cute outfits I've seen you in?

I usually shop in Topshop or Urban Outfitters but I love treasure hunting through markets when I'm on my travels to find something a bit different.

So like, how do you make money to pay for those cool pyjamas and all your awesome clothes and make up and stuff?

As a Shaman, I work with my animal guides to help people have an energetic spring clean so that they feel aligned, centred and clear. Most of my clients are kindred sisters who are seeking to release some outdated feelings/thought processes/attachments and expand their consciousness to a more spiritually connected vibration, ultimately creating space for more of the good stuff to come in! When the moon is right, I make supernatural potions so that people can have good vibes to take-away. I also love working with the magic mirror that is the Tarot!

Uh, WOW. How did you get that job?

I just followed what I love doing, put in a lot of hard work and here I am!

What fun stuff do you like doing on school nights?

Watch movies or Game of Thrones, chill with my boyfriend and our kitty Ava, catch up with friends or read one of the many books that I've got on rotation.

How about on the weekend?

If I'm not working then I'm either off on adventure with my boyfriend or at a meditation class or workshop. I've been going to Jody Shield's Sunday Sessions once a month and I love locking myself down into two hours of energetic work for just for me. It's easy to forget your own self-care practice when you love helping other people. I'm really trying to make time out for myself like this non-negotiable.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I'm working towards being a full time Sorceress when I grow up.

I'm getting hungry, what's your favourite pyjama party food and beverages?

I love sipping on Arizona Green Tea with Honey and I've recently discovered The Coconut Collaborative Snow Coconut frozen yoghurt which is my new favourite - I'm seriously considering breaking up with Ben & Jerry for this one. It's delicious!

Ben & Jerry will be so sad! Favourite pizza topping?

King Prawn with Rocket and Mozzerella if they've got it or a Margarita with pesto please!

Uh, YUM! What movies and TV shows are we going to watch?

Have you seen Snow White and the Huntsman? I could get lost in that film forever. Game of Thrones is another favourite too, I've only just gotten over my withdrawals after season 5.

OK I so need to see Snow White and the Huntsman! Do you have a favourite teen movie?!

I used to love watching Clueless! At one point, I knew all the lines because I'd watched it so many times haha.

OMG what was that noise?! :O Do you believe in ghosts? Have you ever seen one?

Oh yes definitely! I've seen a few which used to freak me out but now I try to help them cross to the other side if they are trying to get my attention.

Have you ever had any other cool paranormal encounters?

Ummm…. I see other peoples Spirit Guides/Animals and feel other peoples feelings which I guess could be classed as paranormal. I think that somewhere along the line paranormal has become my normal…

What do you think happens when we die?

I believe that we go on to our next soul evolution when we die. That means that we might reincarnate back here or come back as a guide or angel to help the other people in our Soul Group. Have you read Many Masters, Many Lives by Brian Weiss? His book really introduced this concept to me.

I love Brian Weiss, I did a book report on one of his books in high school! LOL! Who do you think you were in a past life?

I've been a healer of different sorts and was totally burnt as a witch at least once before - that's why it was so scary for me to come out of the spiritual closet in this life time!

What time do you usually go to bed?

I'd love to be one of those people that go to bed before half 10 but I usually end up in bed by half11ish. I think I try to fit too much into my days….

What should we do tomorrow?

Shall we go crystal shopping or maybe check in with the Akashic Records?

Who's your girl crush?!

Oh wow! Everyday seems to be a girl crush these days. I've been meeting so many kindred sisters over the last year! You are definitely on the list….

Because you are so girl-crush-worthy probably lots of other girls and boys are going to want you at their pyjama parties too. How can they find you?!

You can find me at www.wolfsister.com, for more about me and what I do. I'm also a contributor for The Numinous which is where I get to share some of my mystical experiences and guides - www.thenuminous.net/author/wolfsister. For pics of things I love then follow me at www.instagram.com/__wolfsister, tweets at www.twitter.com/__wolfsister, oh and not to forget Facebook… www.facebook.com/wolfsisterhealing. I love the magic of social media for making new friends.

Thanks so much for having me Vix, you throw the best pyjama parties!

Boy Crush Pyjama Party with Bernard Charles the Colour Mage

Bernard Charles and Vix from New Age Hipster

I've been following Bernard Charles on social media for ages, so when I invited him to my PJ party and he said yes I was like OMG I have to change the hashtag to #BoyCrush! Bernard is doing amazing things with colour. He has his own colour deck which I need in my life desperately and he even runs his own courses so you can get certified as a Colour Reader! Whoop!

So Bernard, what music do you want at the pyjama party?

I love Jessie J! Flashlight totally should be playing!

What pyjamas are you going to wear?

I will be wearing some silky black bottoms with a haematite necklace.

So like, how do you make money to pay for those cool pyjamas and all your awesome clothes and stuff?

I read people's color energies so they protect their own aura from the evil Boogiemen in the world.

How did you get into doing that for a job?

I started doing this in college making Youtube videos. Then it actually turned into something full time since I couldn't find a job to save my life. I don't handle rejection well so I am like well I am going to create my own frickin system and don't need a 9-5 boring job devaluing my entitled self-worth.

I love it! What fun stuff do you like doing on school nights?

I play Wizard101 because I need to escape the monotony of not having fiery spells and glittery orbs of light swirling around me.

How about on the weekend?

Downtime on getting focused a lot. And hanging outside since the week I am inside mostly, it's great to get out of the house and do something. There are local member meetings for different groups I am a part of and I try to socialize more on the weekends.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

My grown up self will be a global icon for color and advocacy. I see myself on the cover of magazines and expanding people's concept of color. Having a fashion line bursting with color and aura flavor. I will have written three books published professionally. And I will want to direct a film at some point.

Until you have your own fashion line (which I am SO looking forward to!) where do you buy your clothes?

Seeing that I am super color, I don't go out and purchase clothes frequently. Not having the funds would be one reason, but if I do buy some new threads you'll find me at American Eagle, Banana Republic or H&M hitting up those sales racks. Lol.

Sales are the best! What are your favourite beauty products?

I love Aura Cacia's Rose face oil, Burts Bees lip balms and Young Living's line of essential oils!! Feeling beautiful is not a crime and more people must express and advocate for their true color more!

Your hair always looks so awesome! Who does it?

I go to a local Salon and get it done professionally. I work with a very close deity who can be found at any salon - Oshun. It's about the relationship and theory behind color that draws me there and I am happy to say that I see my inner beauty better when I can see it on the outside too!

I'm getting kinda hungry, what are your favourite pyjama party food and beverages?

Popcorn all the way with a glass of wine. I like all shades and colors so anything will satisfy this late night party animal!

Favourite pizza topping?

Pepperoni and coming into a second is pineapple!!

I love Pineapple on pizza! What are we gonna watch on TV?

Sabrina the Teenage Witch!

It's getting late so we have to tell ghost stories! Do you believe in ghosts? Have you ever seen one?

So funny you should ask me this! A couple of nights ago I dreamt of my deceased grandmother. And this morning my sister tells me that she had a dream that our grandmother came to visit this house! Strange things happen. I do believe in ghosts and really excited about holding a séance in honor of connecting with the dead. Mooohahahah!

Have you ever had any other kind of spooky or paranormal encounter?

The first time I tried meditating when I was in third grade, this black ghostly form came at my face and spooked me from trying meditation ever again. It wasn't until high school reading about Siddhartha I felt fully safe again to try and meditate!

Woah! What do you think happens when we die?

I think when we live we create the world we get in the afterlife. It's all about projections. I feel that death will consist of an emptiness and a peaceness that we forgot. So we live now in order to try and project the best space thereafter!

I love that idea. Who do you think you were in a past life?

I strongly believe I was connected to being Alexander the Great. What a hunk or so the movie version makes you believe. My past lives dealt with a lot of art and beauty that I am bringing again into this age. I find myself drawn to the Holocaust so I think I might have been Hitler too. Who knows!

What time do you usually go to bed?

On average, I see 11am a lot. If I am up watching Netflix then it's like midnight. I go through a lot of oil because the night keeps me feeling inspired for clear thoughts.

What do you want to do tomorrow?

I want to read someone's color tomorrow by giving a reading. I want to just keep reading this amazing book TheDesireMap by Danielle LaPorte. It's helping my brain and body find peace again.

Who's your girl/boy crush?!

I am definitely crushing on Feather from TheWitchyMommy!

Because you are so boy-crush-worthy probably lots of other girls and boys are going to want you at their pyjama parties too. How can they find you?!

Hit me up on Instagram @thecolormage or explore the wonderful world of color at www.thecolormage.com

Thanks for coming to my PJ party Bernard! Hugz!

Love and light,

Vix
