Howdy Hipsters! OMG it's March! How did that happen so fast?! Don't worry, you still have like, 9 months left to be awesome if you're not already being awesome, and I kind of think if you're reading this, you are. I'm using the Angel Prayers Oracle Cards deck by Kyle Gray this week because I freaking adore the heck out of this deck and haven't used it on the blog for ages!

Start of the week - Earth Angel

Don't forget that although you can call on your Angels for help, you actually are an Earth Angel. This means that so many of the traits and so much of the power of the Angels is already within you! WOW! Keep calling on the Angels for help, but also remember that you can help yourself. You have the power within yourself to make amazing things happen in your life. Don't forget that this week!

Middle of the week - Spirit Animal

Connect with nature, animals and your Spirit Animal this week. Also, I see this card coming up on the back of the Earth Angel card as a message to make sure that we don't always only keep our heads in the clouds chatting to the angels, but that we find a balance and connect with the energies of the earth too! Do your grounding visualisations (feet growing roots!) and breath in some forest/sea/park air!

End of the week - Peace and Harmony - Archangel Raguel

OK, so sometimes you need to be the one who creates the harmony in a situation or relationship. It's so easy to get stuck in the idea that we are 'right' about things and that letting go of disagreements or arguments means we are admitting we are 'wrong'. What we need to do is remember that everyone is on a different journey. We are not all here to read Tarot for others, we are not all here to connect with Angels and live a shiny life, some of us have different reasons for being here and we need to acknowledge that, even if we don't understand it. It's still not OK to do really bad stuff to each other, but part of your journey is to forgive and create peace, harmony and shine your light.

Ever wondered what your spiritual gifts are? Maybe you are well on your way to discovering what your gifts are, maybe you already know them, maybe you don't even think you have any! Take some time this week to think about, learn about and embrace your spiritual gifts. I have received an awesome message from one of my angels about what I can do to enhance one of my spiritual gifts this week, which I'll tell you all about soon! But in the meantime, ask for guidance re: your spiritual gifts and see what comes up for you!

Archangel Orion

"Archangel Who?" I hear you ask. Archangel Orion is relatively new on the scene, he's pretty much the hipster angel. You know, the angel you were working with before he was mainstream? By starting to work with him today you'll have the chance in your next life to roll your eyes at everyone when they tell you about the "new" Archangel Orion. You can be like - "Oh please, seriously, I was working with him in my last life you guys..."

Anyway, this isn't a post about future lives, we're here today to talk about Archangel Orion. Just hold up a sec while we remember what angels actually are. Angels are light beings, right? I mean, let's face it, we don't totally know what they are, we just know that they are energy, really high vibe good helpful energy that you can call on to help you. When peeps saw angels way back in the olden days they mistook their light for wings. I'm not even joking, angels don't really have wings - OMG freak out! But then angels were like - OK, you think we have wings, we'll appear to you with wings so you know who we are!

I don't think about Archangel Orion as having wings, and if you do that's totally cool, like I said, they'll show themselves to you in any way that you'll understand them. But when I think of him I just see the stars, I see the entire Universe and I feel this Galactic kind of energy. If you are a star person or into star people stuff you might find that you gravitate (ha, see what I did there?!) towards this angel even more.

Orion hasn't been working with our planet long enough (that we know of!) to have conformed with our current idea of 'angels'. He's new here, and he brings with him the big picture. He resides high above this Renaissance angel stuff and takes us to whole other planets! In fact, since I've been working with him I've had this amazing dream about being on another planet. It kind of looked like Russia but the colours were just incredible and there was a huge moon on the horizon, and another one higher in the sky... This angel won't just show you how to get your tax return done, he'll show you the whole fucking universe.

Sorry about the language mum, I know you read this.

Archangel Orion is the angel of manifestation. He will help you manifest great things for your life, but not boring earthly stuff like a new TV or extra cash. I asked him this morning to help me manifest new tarot clients. He responded with - Why? Why do I want new clients? Uh, because I like reading tarot and I like paying the bills? I was then guided to answer this question:

What do you really want to do while you are here on this planet?

Uh, OK this was all happening as I was driving in rush hour so I was kind of like - Hrm. I got to thinking about the big stuff. The big WHY?The big WHAT?

It wasn't about getting new clients at all. It was about what I want to do on this planet while I'm here. Well, I want to help people, I want to be happy and make other people happy. I want to have enough money and time to travel and see the world. He then took me through loads of other questions, prompting me with - what do you want in relationships? What do you want for your family life? I have to tell you by the end of it I was feeling a serious amount of awe, for like, everything.

Archangel Orion will pick you up out of your body for a moment (is this a good idea in traffic AA Ori?) and show you the big picture. He will help you get clear on what you want, why you want what you think you want and help you manifest from a distance of clarity. He won't get you that holiday in the Bahamas because maybe he knows that you'll come back to your 9 to 5 and nothing will have changed. He doesn't want to help you to do that. He wants to help you to do the big stuff, and you can't do the big stuff while you're thinking about the small stuff.

So how can we connect with the big O?!

<3 Ask him to work with you. Ask him to help you manifest your desires (not manifest your desires for you!)

<3 Let him take you out of yourself and ask you the big questions

<3 Answer the big WHY and the big WHAT without focus on the little details. Don't tell him what job you think you want, just tell him how you want to help the world, and how you want to feel about it

<3 Light dark blue candles

<3 Play with crystals like dark blue sandstone or Peacock Ore or any other crystals you see that remind you of him, of the enormity of the universe

<3 Paint your fingernails dark blue with gold glitter

<3 Look at the stars and stand in awe

<3 Ask for him to take you to beautiful places and other planets in your dreams

<3 Consider your life in the grand scheme of things and ask yourself - does it really matter that I didn't finish that blog post tonight?

<3 Work with Kyle Gray's Oracle Deck that features Archangel Orion (and so many other great cards!) and meditate on his card, or just leave it out by your bedside as you sleep to bring his energy into your life

<3 Do anything else that makes you feel connected to the big picture, the Universe and your heart's true desires.

Start of the week: Princess of Wands Reversed

If you didn't read my post called 'The 2015 Energy Shift - or why do I feel so freaking weird right now?' you might want to check it out. The gist is that we are feeling weird. Our higher selves have levelled up this year, but our bodies are still kind of catching up and getting used to it. Please see a doctor if you have any unusual things going on, but if you are feeling more of a 'disconnect' with your body even though your spirit connection is actually enhanced you might just be suffering from a levelling up hangover. Don't worry too much Princess, it's just some growing pains.

Middle of the week: King of Pentacles

So we are all guns blazing into 2015 because it's an 8 year right? The year of abundance and all that cool stuff! Whoop! Well, yeah, but let's not forget that abundance isn't just cold hard cash. It's also about health, love, family, friends, opportunities, all the good stuff and lots of it! Don't get so focused on the money aspect that you forget to ask, manifest and work towards creating a life filled with all forms of abundance! Don't over water the lemon tree while the apple tree goes hungry.

The Weekend: Six of Wands Reversed

This weekend we need to get our sticks in order. Huh? OK, so you know how to tidy a mess sometimes you have to make a mess? This is one of those times. Maybe it's a literal mess you need to create - like when you clean out your closet. You have to pull all the crap out and then go through it all, sort it out and then put it back. Maybe you need to do that with your brain, or a relationship or something else this weekend. Get decluttering!

So even though this week is kind of like just sorting out your closet (metaphorical or literal) Mother Mary wants you to know that she's with you hun. Call on her this week if you need some peace. It's easy, you don't even have to be Catholic or anything. Just say - 'Mother Mary' and then see how you feel. She always makes me feel like everything is fine. I mean hello, she gave birth to Jesus, she can probably help you tidy up your shoes.

Oh and guess what? On Tuesday the 13th January (that's this week!) I'm hosting another FREE TAROT TUESDAY on my Facebook page. It's 2015! #YAY! ...now what?!

2015 is here!!! We've been waiting for it for MONTHS, and you know what? I do feel different! Don't you?! I feel the buzz! I feel the vibes! I feel the abundant '8' year energy and ready to say to hell with the dress rehearsal let's dance the shit out of this year!

Angel Prayers Oracle Deck Review

Kyle Gray Angel Prayers Oracle Cards

OK so these just may be my favourite Angel cards of all time people! Yes, I said it. I love Doreen Virtue and all her card decks. I love them so much sometimes I just sit and look at all of them on Wordery or Google images, pining over the ones I don't have already. But I digress - today we are talking about Kyle Gray - Prince of Earth Angels and his brand new deck of 44 cards the Angel Prayers Oracle Cards published by Hay House.

Unboxing

These come in a nice sturdy hard box just like the Hay House Doreen decks. I love this box because it keeps your cards safe and I'm not into the whole silk scarf/keep your cards somewhere sacred thing, although a lot of you probably are and that's fine too! I just throw these around like everywhere I go. In my handbag, on the floor next to my bed, falling out of my suitcase in the car boot, no worries, this tough box will keep them safe! In the box you'll find your 44 cards plus a nice quality little guide book which features more info on each card as well as some spreads and ideas on how to clear and use your deck.

Shuffleability

Shuffling these cards is kind of hard if you have small hands, but it bigger cards make for bigger pictures! Watch the video below for some different ways to shuffle these cards. I find shuffling them pretty easy - after gently peeling some of them apart when you first get them they are totally smooth shuffling.

Artwork

WOW, all I can say is wow I love the artwork on these cards. It's fresh, modern and totally resonates with me as some kind of new age hipster type person. As much as I love the 'traditional' angel cards, seeing your angels looking hot and with purple or turquoise hair and looking like they just came out of some bar in East London certainly appeals to me! The images are bold and beautiful but at the same time simplistic enough to get the messages across quickly and easily. Each card also features an Angel Prayer and I love these. It gives you a focus, especially on those days when you are like - OK, trust my vibes, but how?! Just say the prayer on the card! Sometimes I like to say it 3 times. ;-)

Usability

These cards areso easy to use. Even if you've never had a deck of angel or tarot cards before, you can pick this pack up and start reading for yourself pretty easily. I would totally recommend the Angel Prayers Oracle as a first angel oracle card deck. Having said that I have like a gazillion other decks and I still love this one! Here's some ideas of how you can use this deck -

<3 pull a card in the morning before school/work/whatever - I say something like 'Angels do you have any messages for me today? Thank you!'

<3 pull a card at night before bed by asking the angels for any messages

<3 asking a question and pulling one card - e.g. what do I need to know about (insert issue here!)?

<3 find out about your life purpose

<3 three card reading - past, present, potential future or just three cards to answer a question about an issue you are having

<3 the awesome 9 card spread in the guide book!

<3 meditate on a card of your own choice, or one you pull at random

<3 when you find a card you totally resonate with for whatever reason stand it up on your bedside table to keep that energy around you while you sleep

<3 manifest! Find a card that resonates with what you want to manifest (hello Archangel Orion!) and leave it out where you can see it all the time

<3 asking if a particular Archangel is with you - e.g. ask - is there an Archangel who wants to work with me?

<3 learn the Archangels

<3 just about anything else you want to do with it!

The Week Ahead - 27th of October to 2nd of November

Mercury is finally going direct! Yay! Now let's see what amazingness is in store this week via the beautiful Kyle Gray Angel Prayers Oracle Cards that I am so in love with right now I even made a video review, but I'll post all about that later...

MONDAY

Healthy Choices - OK, so it's Monday and if you're anything like me that healthy eating thing has a habit of going out the window on weekends sometimes. Today we are being urged to make a healthy choice - eat your vegies, do some exercise, drink a smoothie, or at the very least don't eat that whole packet of biscuits today! Do something today your body will thank you for.

TUESDAY

Honour Your Feelings - Whatever you are going through on Tuesday, just allow it. Ask yourself today - how am I really feeling? Maybe you have some feelings that you've been hiding from even yourself. How do you really feel about that guy/girl? How do you really feel about your job? OMG, how do you really feel about your life?! However you are feeling today is totally valid. Cry in the shower, dance around the lounge room, scream in the broom closet and don't apologise for how you feel today. Unless you hurt someone with your words or actions, because that isn't cool.

WEDNESDAY

The Inner Voice - last week we had an intuitive Wednesday and it looks like we are having another one this week! What's up with Wednesdays? Another great day to stop, meditate, get quiet, journal or whatever else works for you and tune into that inner voice. And pay attention to what you hear! When we follow the loving and supportive guidance of our inner voice things can only get better.

THURSDAY

Unconditional Love - OK, who have you been sending daggers to this week? Some guy who took up all the space on the train? What about that jerk that cut you off in traffic? How about your evil boss or someone that barged you in the supermarket? Hey, maybe you've even been sending daggers to yourself. Today is about releasing daggers. Send love to the people who piss you off (hey, I know it's hard). I sometimes just imagine sending a yellow heart to people. You don't have to like them, but asking love and light to surround people that drive you nuts is totally therapeutic and makes everyone feel better. You might even need to spend some time today asking Mother Mary to send you some unconditional love too. We could all use a bit of that!

FRIDAY

Speak Your Truth - Today we are speaking up for someone, something or ourselves. When you see someone being mean to a shop assistant don't just stand there, tell them it's not cool. Speak up in meetings, post your truth on the internet, clear your throat chakra! This card also suggests that we donate or join a cause for those who can't speak for themselves. People who can't communicate effectively due to disabilities or other conditions, animals, nature. Cats can't talk, but we can talk for them and so we should!

SATURDAY

Live Your Joy - I mean WOW! What an amazing card to get for a Saturday! You are free today to follow your joy, whatever that is! Do whatever makes your heart and soul sing with joy today. Go out with friends, get out in nature, read a book, bake cupcakes, spend time with family and loved ones, watch a silly movie, go shopping for candles, go to Lush and buy yourself a bath bomb (OMG so obsessed with Lush right now!), work on your novel, scrapbook something awesome. Today just DO YOU!

SUNDAY

Leap of Faith - Last weekend we talked about the Fool card and how we needed to start making plans for the next big leap of faith - well here it is again! We've started planning it, now it's time to get the Angels involved and ask them for their input! Spend some time today dreaming, planning and asking for guidance, and if you're already ready - do it! Start that blog, start that website for your business, send that manuscript to that publisher, upload your art on Etsy, or start searching the internet for your dream job.

The Week Ahead - Perspective and Dreams

 

Welcome to another weekly New Age Hipster card reading! Yay! I didn't do one on the blog last week because basically I've been thinking a lot about this blog and what I'm doing here and where I'm heading and I thought I'd take some time out and think about it. But the guidance I've been getting lately is to stop worrying about what I'm doing and just do something, so here's this week's reading...

I grabbed my Angel Tarot deck which I got for free when I attended Doreen Virtue's Certified Angel Reader Class a couple months ago and asked for a message for anyone who sees this on my blog, Facebook, Instagram - whatever! -  and I pulled the Awakening card - 12. In the traditional tarot this is the Hanged Man, but I love the angelic take on it. The Hanged Man doesn't have to be about being 'stuck' in your situation or being tied to something you don't want to do, and the awakening card reminds us that it's OK to have a temporary standstill. It's Mercury Retrograde right now, I don't know about you but I've had my car break down, problems with a bunch of electronics, contracts and two online shopping dramas; I swear I put in the right post code! During this time we are supposed to slow down and really look at our lives.

This week we are being called to look at things from a different perspective. Are you really stuck doing what you're doing? Or do you just need to change your attitude? Is the commute really that bad or do you just need to find some new music or podcasts? Is your relationship really like a pair of old slippers or can you spice things up a bit?

Take time this week to think about your dreams, goals and ambitions. What are you working towards, and when was the last time you stopped to re-evaluate if it's really where you want to go? It's OK to change your dream if it's no longer in alignment with what you want. I grew up in Australia and my dream for a long time was to be on Neighbours. Mostly so I could start my pop star career, but hey ho! And I didn't fail, I just changed my dream. That dream served a purpose for a long time. It was the dream that made me apply for Theatre school and then spend 4 years studying, that dream then led me onto other study and to the job I'm now in and now that job has led me to wanting more and right now I'm looking at my life from a new perspective!

Take stock this week, write a list or journal about your dreams and hopes for the future. Don't just write what you think you should write, or what you've been telling everyone your dream is for the past few years... what's your dream today? What is your soul crying out for? Start working towards that, and you know what? If your soul cries out for something else further down the track that's OK too.

Welcome to the new age, hipster! x

I've wanted to start this blog for AGES! Like any new creative venture I'm not totally sure what direction it's going to go in, but it's here and It's happening. Start before you're ready and all that. Something Kyle Gray said at his AMAZING workshop last week at the London Wellbeing Festival really hit me. He said whatever we learned during the day, that we should share it. He was like - the more people that know about this stuff, the better.

I've been reading self help books and dabbling in all kinds of religious and spiritual stuff for years now, and even though I am so very far from figuring it all out, I have learned a lot on my journey so far and what's it all for if I'm just keeping it to my super cute Paperchase journals?

I have about a gazillion ideas for things to blog about from tarot cards to fashion, awesome crystal finds on Etsy and ethical household cleaners. I was a little unsure on how to go about writing this first post, but I was very drawn to the idea of pulling a card for anyone who stumbles across this page.

This is the Nine of Michael from Doreen Virtue's Archangel Power Tarot and it reminds us to free ourselves of the worst case scenarios playing out in our minds. Focus on the positive, stop thinking about what you don't want and start thinking about what you do want.
