I get brilliant results from this deck and had a super fun Angel Tarot session over crumpets and tea with a friend last week. We got our decks out and were amazed at how many times the same cards kept coming up between us. Two of them even came up in the weekly reading! Woah!

Start of the week - Six of Water

We might find that lately some memories from childhood are coming up for us. This can at first seem like - OMG why the heck am I thinking about that?! You might be quick to dismiss it as some passing annoyance, but actually, if we look at some of our childhood 'stuff' we might find some answers there to some questions we've been asking ourselves. "Why do I always do that? Why do I always think like that? Why do I always make those choices?" Go back, way back and spend some time with the child of your past. Don't forget to give your inner child some love while you are there. Thank them for drawing your attention to this, hug them and then let them go play.

Middle of the week - Renewal - Archangel Jeremiel

Review and evaluate. We are looking at the end of another month, how is 2015 going for you? What was it again that you said you really wanted to achieve this year? Are you on the right path to doing that? You might find yourself doing a 180 this week. Something you really thought you wanted might seem suddenly not so interesting or important, or you might find that you are developing a passion for something you never really thought you'd even like! Don't be scared of changing your mind on something.

End of the week - The Wheel - Archangel Michael

With Archangel Michael on your side, who could stand against you?! This is a time of positive change. I feel like it's going to be more of an internal change for most of us, a change in perception, a change in how we see ourselves, a change in how we see the world. Things may be moving forward quickly, so make sure that you what you are working on and manifesting is really what you want! Fortune favours the brave, so it might be a good couple of days to work on your self-esteem 'stuff' too!

Tarot with Friends (Monica, Chandler, Rachel, Joey, Ross and Phoebe)!

Some people practice their Tarot skills while hunched over a table with a couple of candles, a huge stack of books, some crystals and a deck of Tarot cards. While I do like this method on occasion there's a style of Tarot practice that is just way more me. You know I'm all about Pop Culture Tarot and Tarot making sense in the real world and so that's how I practice!

I gave myself some Tarot homework this week because every time I turn on TV these days, Friends is on. It never ends, and if you are still watching at the start of the next episode you can't get away!  As I found myself falling down the Friends rabbit hole earlier this week I thought I should make the most of it and play Tarot with Friends!

This is a crazy fun Tarot game and you can play alone or with Friends (Ha! LOL!). All you do is sit on your couch, turn on the TV and grab your Tarot cards. Look for cards that represent characters, storylines or locations. Make it harder by using only Court Cards, or Majors or Minors. Experts can use only one suit! Oh! You smarty pants!

I've been watching a lot of Friends lately so I thought I'd double up and so I give you a Major Arcana card and Court Card for each of our favourite TV Friends! 

Let's start with Ross... He's a total dork, a serious loser and a lot of people who've watched this show kind of can't stand him. I don't mind him, he's just a total Dinosaur geek right? So who better in the Major Arcana to represent a Dino Geek than the Hermit? Sure, the Hermit is usually a hell of a lot wiser than a guy like Ross. He mostly relies on book smarts to get by and rarely shows any 'wisdom'. But perhaps he's like a young Hermit. In like, 40 years or something, maybe he'll be wise. Ross is totally the King of Swords. He's all intellect and not so great with his heart, passion or earthly stuff, although Dinosaurs come from the Earth, hrmmmm. But books and History facts are his thing, which makes him a Swords guy. A very different version of the King of Swords than Eric Northman, he's probably more Page of Swords because he's kind of clueless and immature, but maybe he's just still growing into his King of Swords boots.

Phoebe is a real mystery and a mixed bag. She doesn't totally fit into any of the archetypes of the Tarot that easily, but she's definitely got a whole heap of Moon qualities. Mystery alone makes her a Moon chic. She's a total space cadet with a deep hidden past - she mugged people as a kid and has even alluded to being secretly married in the Las Vegas episode. The Queen of Wands is Phoebe's court card. She's fiery, passionate, super confident (but not very musical!) and always sticks up for herself and her friends. Remember that episode where she was catering a wake with Monica? Monica was too soft to ask the widow for her money and Phoebe just walked right in there in a middle of the widow singing a show tune and demanded that they get paid! Woah, that's what a little Wands energy can do!

And Joey is the Fool. Obviously. He's a kind hearted guy with not a lot going on upstairs, bless his cotton socks. Just like the Fool in the Tarot who is so in awe of life and a believer in all things good in the world, Joey steps off the cliff into the unknown every time he leaves the apartment because he always forgets what he went out for. In the Court Cards Joey is the Knight of Wands, mostly because he always acts first and thinks later, a pretty common Wands thing. He follows his passion, rocks up to audition after audition looking for his big break, but retaining his cool the whole time. His quick mouth often gets him into trouble, but because most of what comes out is completely Fool-like and innocent everyone just loves him even more. Nawww.

Moving onto Rachel and I cast her as the Empress. She's creative, easy going, looks after everyone and is a bit of a mother hen, especially to the boys. Monica thinks she is, but Rachel really tucks everyone under her wing whenever they need it. She's sweet and lovely and is pretty obsessed with the idea of creating an awesome life for herself. Empresses don't always have to be 'mothers' in the literal sense, but they do have a gorgeous nurturing vibe and if they're not giving birth to babies, they need to be giving birth to something else! Rachel is also the Queen of Cups. She's kind and intuitive and one of the things that her Empress is always trying to 'create' is the perfect love affair. Because the truth is, love makes this friend's world go round. Like a lot of Cups people who desire romance with all their heart, being single is even harder for them than for us Swords, Pents or Wands peeps.

Chandler, what a joker! His witty one liners give us a giggle, but in terms of plot, they don't get him very far. This makes Chandler the Hanged Man. If you think about it, Chandler is pretty much everyone else's side kick, and he has no real character development until he hooks up with Monica, which is like, ages later! He basically hangs around shooting out sarcastic remarks for years without anything really happening to him. He's having a great time in that tree, living in NYC, hanging out with friends, but is his career, relationship or life really going anywhere?! I've also made Chandler the Knight of Pentacles. He seems like an earthy kind of dude, much more than most of the characters in this show. Chandler may be a joker, but there's a real sense from him even at the start of the first series that all he really desires in life is a a good job with a decent salary, a pretty wife and a couple of kids. He's not into saving the world, he just wants to enjoy his world.

And Monica is the High Priestess. Not, in this case, because she's particularly intuitive, but because she's a little on her high horse at times. She thinks she's the High Priestess, the Queen of the apartment block, a little high and mighty. She doesn't do it on purpose, that's just how she is. She likes things a certain way and expects everyone else to just be OK with that. She's not big on compromise, and sees the world in black and white, she doesn't really do grey. Monica is the Queen of Pentacles too. She's the Queen who thinks her apartment and her space is her palace. She likes having nice things around her, good food (oh! Hello catering business!) and she likes to look nice too. She looks after her money and spends carefully, but is more likely to spend money on something nice for the apartment than a new pair of boots.

I hope you enjoyed reading my Tarot homework. Now your homework is to grab your cards and watch your favourite TV show (or any TV show!) and start pulling out some cards for your characters!

Weekly Reading - 16 to 22 February 2015 - The Angel Oracle Deck

I recently purchased this little gem of a deck for only 29p second hand and WOW am I glad I did! I have to admit I've always been a little superstitious about second hand decks, but The Angel Oracle Deck by Ambika Wauters is changing my mind about that! I'm loving it's angelic vibe so much it's my deck of choice this week for our weekly reading...

Start of the week - Archangel Metatron

Metatron is urging us to get creative at the start of this week. Remember last week when we had those messages to get learning? Sign up for a course or learn a new skill? Well, I hope you've done that and you're ready to go! Don't forget to do whatever creative thing it is that you are doing with love. If after three weeks of life drawing you find yourself dreading another session, you don't have to go back. Archangel Metatron often works with children too, and here he's reminding us to connect with our inner child this week too. What creative activity would your inner child most enjoy? Even if it's just dancing around the house like Kate Bush, make sure to connect with your inner child in creative ways this week!

Middle of the week - The Guardian Angel of Service

It's so easy to get caught up in a 'what will I get out of this?' mentality. We do it all the time, at work, in relationships, when we buy a coffee for the advertised free cookie. What about what you can give? Focus this week on being of service to others. It can be in any form, perhaps you knitted a hat in your new knitting class, you could give it away to a friend, or homeless person. Perhaps you will write a poem for a loved one, make dinner on your night off, or simply hold the door open for a stranger. Try to change your perspective a little and see what happens if you focus on service.

End of the week - The Guardian Angel of Health

OK, it's time to get back into our bodies and consider what we are putting into them and how we are treating them. Look at your current diet, exercise routine and even just the way you think about your body. It's time for a little self love this weekend. Gift yourself a massage or a Yoga class, or even just do some Yoga on YouTube. Then stop off and grab some fruit and veg that looks delicious and make yourself something healthy and super scrummy for dinner. Your body deserves it!

Archangel Orion

"Archangel Who?" I hear you ask. Archangel Orion is relatively new on the scene, he's pretty much the hipster angel. You know, the angel you were working with before he was mainstream? By starting to work with him today you'll have the chance in your next life to roll your eyes at everyone when they tell you about the "new" Archangel Orion. You can be like - "Oh please, seriously, I was working with him in my last life you guys..."

Anyway, this isn't a post about future lives, we're here today to talk about Archangel Orion. Just hold up a sec while we remember what angels actually are. Angels are light beings, right? I mean, let's face it, we don't totally know what they are, we just know that they are energy, really high vibe good helpful energy that you can call on to help you. When peeps saw angels way back in the olden days they mistook their light for wings. I'm not even joking, angels don't really have wings - OMG freak out! But then angels were like - OK, you think we have wings, we'll appear to you with wings so you know who we are!

I don't think about Archangel Orion as having wings, and if you do that's totally cool, like I said, they'll show themselves to you in any way that you'll understand them. But when I think of him I just see the stars, I see the entire Universe and I feel this Galactic kind of energy. If you are a star person or into star people stuff you might find that you gravitate (ha, see what I did there?!) towards this angel even more.

Orion hasn't been working with our planet long enough (that we know of!) to have conformed with our current idea of 'angels'. He's new here, and he brings with him the big picture. He resides high above this Renaissance angel stuff and takes us to whole other planets! In fact, since I've been working with him I've had this amazing dream about being on another planet. It kind of looked like Russia but the colours were just incredible and there was a huge moon on the horizon, and another one higher in the sky... This angel won't just show you how to get your tax return done, he'll show you the whole fucking universe.

Sorry about the language mum, I know you read this.

Archangel Orion is the angel of manifestation. He will help you manifest great things for your life, but not boring earthly stuff like a new TV or extra cash. I asked him this morning to help me manifest new tarot clients. He responded with - Why? Why do I want new clients? Uh, because I like reading tarot and I like paying the bills? I was then guided to answer this question:

What do you really want to do while you are here on this planet?

Uh, OK this was all happening as I was driving in rush hour so I was kind of like - Hrm. I got to thinking about the big stuff. The big WHY?The big WHAT?

It wasn't about getting new clients at all. It was about what I want to do on this planet while I'm here. Well, I want to help people, I want to be happy and make other people happy. I want to have enough money and time to travel and see the world. He then took me through loads of other questions, prompting me with - what do you want in relationships? What do you want for your family life? I have to tell you by the end of it I was feeling a serious amount of awe, for like, everything.

Archangel Orion will pick you up out of your body for a moment (is this a good idea in traffic AA Ori?) and show you the big picture. He will help you get clear on what you want, why you want what you think you want and help you manifest from a distance of clarity. He won't get you that holiday in the Bahamas because maybe he knows that you'll come back to your 9 to 5 and nothing will have changed. He doesn't want to help you to do that. He wants to help you to do the big stuff, and you can't do the big stuff while you're thinking about the small stuff.

So how can we connect with the big O?!

<3 Ask him to work with you. Ask him to help you manifest your desires (not manifest your desires for you!)

<3 Let him take you out of yourself and ask you the big questions

<3 Answer the big WHY and the big WHAT without focus on the little details. Don't tell him what job you think you want, just tell him how you want to help the world, and how you want to feel about it

<3 Light dark blue candles

<3 Play with crystals like dark blue sandstone or Peacock Ore or any other crystals you see that remind you of him, of the enormity of the universe

<3 Paint your fingernails dark blue with gold glitter

<3 Look at the stars and stand in awe

<3 Ask for him to take you to beautiful places and other planets in your dreams

<3 Consider your life in the grand scheme of things and ask yourself - does it really matter that I didn't finish that blog post tonight?

<3 Work with Kyle Gray's Oracle Deck that features Archangel Orion (and so many other great cards!) and meditate on his card, or just leave it out by your bedside as you sleep to bring his energy into your life

<3 Do anything else that makes you feel connected to the big picture, the Universe and your heart's true desires.

Weekly Reading 9 - 15 February 2015 Tarot of White Cats

I've used the most gorgeous Tarot of White Cats for the weekly reading this week. I do love this deck so much, every time I pull it out I'm like - OMG this deck is amazing! Check out my video reviewof it if you like it too! Also, my poor kitty Zorro has been unwell and so I really wanted to put some good kitty vibes out into the Universe this week.

Start of the week - Ten of Cups

This is about counting your blessings really. If you've got someone to love or someone who loves you (even if it's just your cat) then you are damn lucky, and don't you be forgetting it. Focus your intention this week on staying in gratitude and really enjoying the little moments. You know, snuggling up on the couch with the one you love, patting your cat, hugging your kids, calling a friend or even just liking someone's post on Facebook; these are the times when you are in the love zone so notice it, be thankful for it, and really mean it.

Middle of the week - Two of Pentacles

Got a lot on right now? Are you having a bit of a melt down because you have like zero life-work balance? I'm not suggesting you start bludging at work, but you may find you need to work really hard to remember your blessings these couple of days. When you are feeling stressed, think of kittens. Put things into perspective. Will the world end if you don't get through your to-do list? Carve out a little extra time mid-week for your life, even if it getting slightly less done on work stuff.

End of the week - The Hermit reversed

First of all, can I just point out that the cat in this card is wearing sandals. Hang on, this is the card for Valentine's Day?! Well, I hope you have a great day and all, but I'm going to go ahead and say that this weekend you need to find something new to learn about. You know, after your date or night alone watching Rom Coms or whatever. While the Hermit can also represent alone time, reconnecting with spirit etc., this weekend it's about learning. You've learned a lot, you know a lot, you've done a lot. But don't stop for God's sake! Keep truckin'! You can apply to Universities, or online courses (OMG this course looks so sweet!), sign up for some free webinars, finally finish reading that book you've had half finished for waaaaay too long (for me that's Advanced Tarot Secrets!). Or buy a new book (Holistic Tarot?! - yes please!!). You won't learn that much from watching the Comedy Channel all weekend, except maybe like all the words to every Friends episode ever made.

Weekly Reading February 2nd - 8th 2015

Hello Gorgeous New-Agers! Welcome to another edition of your weekly reading, and wow, what a corker we're about to have! I used the most beautiful Art Nouveau Tarot - the Matt Myers 1989 version. It's so 80's and one of my favourite decks that so doesn't get enough use! Maybe I'll use it on Tarot Tuesday!

Start of the week - Five of Wands reversed

This deck is a little different to the tradition RW/PCS decks so disregard anything you think you know about the five of wands! In this card we see a Ken doll look-a-like grabbing a hot redheaded Barbie chic. Reversed I'm getting that there is going to be a releaseof some kind for us at the start of the week. It could be that you let go of something you've been holding onto way too tightly, or something or someone lets go of you. It could be a friendship, relationship stuff, some crazy outdated thought patterns. Whatever it is, you gotta let go, and if you don't, you might find the universe steps in and takes it from you - it'll be a good thing though! Promise!

Middle of the week - Five of Pentacles reversed

OMG what the? Did I actually pull two reversed fives in a row? Yes I did. So PAY ATTENTION! This never happens. I've honestly never pulled two reversed fives in a row before. This card is also about release, but it's about releasing the attachment we have to our 2015 outcomes. Are you freaking out and pissed off at yourself that you spent all of January watching webinars about how to have a six figure business (or whatever your slice of pie in January was!) but you appear to have made no progress whatsoever? Get a grip. You still have ELEVEN months to create a freaking awesome 2015. It wasn't like you'd wake up Feb first and have all the 2015 work done. Also, it's Mercury effing Retrograde right now. It doesn't matter if you write like 100,000 words of your future best seller this month, it's still going to feel like you've done nothing. So cut yourself a break.

End of the week - Six of Cups

OMG is this guy a hottie or what? We see Ken again, this time holding out his cup, considering what it is exactly he wants his cup to contain. We're doing a lot of releasing this week, and by Friday we need to start re-filling. Don't just re-fill with the same old crap you just let go of. Seriously consider what it is you want your cup to overflow with, and then spend some time filling up. You might want to take time out to do your own card readings, journal, meditate, or maybe you need to go out and get crazy with your friends, bake cookies with your fam or just catch up on your fave shows on Netflix. Whatever it is, just remember what you fill up with is what your cup with contain!

De-cluttering, To-do lists & Revenge - The Weekly Tarot Reading - 26th January to 1st February

The weekly reading this week is coming to you via the Housewives Tarot this week. It's a fun quirky deck with a hipster retro vibe and some of the images are pretty hilarious. I haven't done a deck review of it yet, but I can if you want!

Start of the week - Justice

This week be really careful of dishing out 'justice', especially when you don't know all the facts. This could come in any form - berating the kids even when they said they didn't do it, getting pissed at your partner and 'forgetting' to buy his favourite snacks at the supermarket, hating on your work colleagues and switching the sugar and the salt, or God forbid - getting mad at yourself for doing, or not doing something you wanted to get done early this week. You don't have to let people walk over you or take crap, but put things in perspective and do try to see things from the other person's point of view before you start confiscating their lollipops.

Middle of the week - Nine of Pentacles reversed

Upright this nine of pents looks totally content. All her dishes are clean, dry and sparkling! Fab! Reversed though, these dishes are staying dirty. Why are your dishes grimy today? Are you too busy to stack the dishwasher, I mean really? Today is a day to spend a few minutes at least tidying, cleaning or de-cluttering. Remember that Feng Shui thing about de-cluttering?! The more crap you have lying around the less energy can flow and the less energy can flow the less energy you get, especially when we're talking abundance baby! Tidy up your crap and attract cash! Yeeeew!

End of the week - Ten of Wands

Here we see this housewife seriously struggling with her brooms and mops. She just has waaaaaaay too many cleaning tasks on the go right now and she's either going to have to put them all down and take a break, or start sorting them out slooooowly if she wants to really get anywhere...

Anyone feeling overwhelm this week? I have to admit I'm kind of freaking out - it's FEBRUARY and I'm already way behind schedule. I wanted to be sending out my newsletters this week, and giving my blog a make-over and like a gazillion other things.

When we get freaked out we have three choices - just like this chic with her brooms and mops. We can either

<3 Freak the hell out and bash the brooms around swearing and getting pissed at anyone who comes close to us and really getting nowher

<3 Put down the brooms and walk away. Take some time out from your list of things to do. Those brooms will be there tomorrow.

or

<3 Organise your brooms and mops one at a time. Know it's going to take time, but you can get through this list of seemingly neverending things to do.

Think before you seek revenge, do some de-cluttering and face your to-do list one thing at a time and you'll have a brilliant shiny week so clean you could eat your dinner off it!

WTF Court Cards: Queen Elizabeth II - Queen of Swords

See? I told you I'd keep working on the WTF Court Cards series! Why WTF Court Cards? Well, because when you learn tarot and first ask questions like "will I get the job?" and you pull the Queen of Swords it's like -" WTF Court Cards?!" Why couldn't I just pull a nice Ace of Pentacles or something?! Argh! It's enough to make even the most psychically gifted gal to go running to back to her magic 8 ball. I love magic 8 balls. I wonder if I can get one on Amazon...

Today in Pop Culture Tarot Queen Elizabeth II stars as the Queen of Swords!

WTF? You may be asking. How can Queen Elizabeth II an actual Queen represent a Queen in the tarot, because aren't all the Queens a Queen?! Good question. But no, not all Queens are created equal. Some are emotional wrecks, some are fiery war mongers while others prefer to sit on their thrones quietly and run the lands 'properly'. Liz is one of those ones. She doesn't dash about in her pants, take centre stage like Beyonce or pick up a wand first chance she gets to go into battle. Oh no, this queen rules using her intellect and logic - you know, the whole 'swords thing'.

Now love her or loathe her (I happen to love her), you have to admit Queen Liz has pretty much never put a foot wrong in her fifty-something years on the throne. I mean seriously, do you think the other queens would last that long without messing up or causing a scene or going losing it over the costumes for the 44th world tour? Lizzie stays level headed in all types of crises and always puts her people above all. As Queen, her job is simple - look after your subjects. Do the best thing for them and their country, even if they think it sucks at the time. She's like the dedicated teacher who spends hours planning so she can give you loads of extra homework and you get totally pissed, but then realise later that actually, you learnt a hell of a lot in that class. 

Swords people aren't really into affection and they definitely aren't huggers. I mean hugging is just so - emotional, ick! Only super emo people hug. How about holding hands or kissing your hubby when out and about? Maybe a couple of times every 100 years or so. If Queen Elizabeth doesn't hug you back, it's not because she doesn't like you, it's just that one must stay professional and regal at all times and never show weakness. Affection is for weaklings! I don't need a hug! I'm the Queen of England! I don't even hug my baby, we just shake hands!

She doesn't even give Prince Harry a cuddle, although he's always being naughty so maybe you can kind of understand it, but he's just soooo hugable am I right girls, am I right? I mean come on, you must have a heart of steel to resist pinching these cheeks...

Sorry where were we? Oh yes, so she's quite steely really, and she totally believes in honour and tradition. She goes to church and does all the other weird things that you are 'supposed' to do if you are Queen. While other members of the monarchy are rocking a hipster chilled out approach to being royal, Liz sticks with the tried and true. You'd never see her in a tabloid, dancing naked on a table or dressing up in a highly inappropriate costume for Halloween. It just isn't done! But she doesn't make a fuss (at least not in public!) about other members of the royal family doing their do, and for that we give her clicks!

The Queen of Swords is known for ability to give brilliant advice. She knows a hell of a lot and has seen enough to know what works, what doesn't work, what's going to get you where you want to go, and what's going to hold you back. But her advice will always be somewhat 'sensible'. If you ask her about whether you should get a real job or blow all your cash backpacking through the UK she's probably going to tell you to get a real job. But sometimes you need that person in your life, to tell you what's sensible, what's a 'good idea' and what's the 'right' thing to do for the greatest good, for others and for yourself. Although she may seem to lack any kind of emotional bone in her body, she really does look out for everyone else over herself. I mean come on, she's spent over 50 years as Queen. She's followed the rules, toed the line and has she ever complained about it? Don't think so. She's got on with it, for the benefit of everyone, and she'll encourage you to do the same.

Upright you can trust her completely and tell her everything. Reversed though this woman can be seriously manipulative and weave a web of lies that is so well thought out it's almost impossible to really catch her out. She can be truly heartless and ice cold, sharp and cutting with her words and basically just really, really mean.

So now the big question - how does this all help you in your readings? Perhaps this card can represent someone that you know, or an aspect of yourself, or the person you are reading for. It can mean you are being too logical and not thinking with your heart enough, or it could be that you should get into counselling, after all, counsellors have to have an element of the Queen of Swords within them. You can't be in a counselling session with crazy passionate opinions or balling your eyes out! When asking about a relationship - perhaps you need to be more affectionate. Asking about a job - stay professional and show your true leadership abilities! What about pulling the Queen reversed when asking if you should buy that round the world ticket - hmmm, might not be the most 'sensible' thing to do right now... but of course you are welcome to use your free will and go anyway!

Whenever you are feeling too emo or scattered try channelling your inner Queen of Swords and see if she can bring you back into your body and your brain and start making good solid choices again. After all, not every decision in life should be made with the fiery passion of the Wands or the heart-felt Cups. Sometimes we all need a little Swords energy around us to get things into perspective and use some logic occasionally!

Start of the week - Silver Sisters

This card is all about gossip and negative energy. It could be that others are throwing their negative vibes at you and you need to protect yourself from it, or it could be that you have thrown some daggers and nasty words around about others. This is bad, and I know it's hard because some people seriously are dicks and they piss you off and so you need to vent. But make sure your venting doesn't throw negative energy at that person. It's OK to say to a friend - it made me feel really mad when this person did [whatever]. It's not OK to go on a total bitch-fest. Raise your vibration and stop bitching. If you are in a seriously negative environment and just can't see how that's even possible - get out of it.

If you need protection from this kind of negativity try imagining yourself in a pink (or colour of your choice) bubble. Clear yourself with white light and ask your Angels, Faeries and Guides to clear you and keep you safe from other people's negativity. You can also wear crystals - especially dark colours like black tourmaline or obsidian.

Middle of the week - The Grail Faery

The new moon on Tuesday night is going to bring us into a re-set vibe. You can read more about this coming new moon on Gala Darling's blog. This Faery is telling us a similar story. We need to check in with our new years resolutions or 2015 goals or wishes. Are you on the same path you were on at the start of this year? Do you need to amp it up and put in some extra effort? Do you need to totally get back on course? Do you just need to re-affirm your commitment to making 2015 your best year EVER?! Time to make yourself accountable. Let go of procrastination and any shit that's weighing you down and get back on track!

End of the week - The Unicorn and the Maiden

Woah, what a powerful card. This is all about humans and animals coming together to work together to create peace on this planet. What do you need to do in your life to create a better planet? Recycle, stop buying crazy packaged fruit or veg when you could buy it loose. Pat and love animals instead of wearing them as fancy outfits. Buy the 'safe' versions of cleaning products. OK, this isn't always totally practical, but do your best. Do what you can.

Every night before you go to sleep imagine planet Earth, like how it looks from space. Imagine white light surrounding the planet - creating peace. Imagine if we all did that.

WTF Court Cards: Bridget Jones - Queen of Cups

It's been a while since I've blogged about pop culture tarot but don't freak out! I'm dedicating the first part of 2015 to finishing off the WTF Court Cards series! Yay!

For those not already in the know - when you first start out with the Tarot there are quite a lot of 'easy' cards. A man in a boat - hello you are going somewhere. A man looking sad because he spilled his drink - OK, this is about disappointment. Easy peasy lemon squeezy let's all be professional tarot readers and quit our day jobs wheeeee! And then you find yourself in the middle of an intense reading for your Mum or someone who's game enough to be your guinea pig, like your cat, and you pull the Queen of Cups, well WTF? It's just a chic on a chair with a cup. Is this about a person? Is this telling you to go to IKEA and get some new mugs? I mean seriously, it's not that helpful. These damn court cards are tricky, even for people who've been reading tarot for a gazillion years. But never fear - WTF Court Cards is here helping make tarot accessible to even the newest of new age hipsters.

Today in Pop Culture Tarot we are learning all about Bridget Jones - Queen of Cups.

Bridget Jones is probably not the first pop culture princess that comes to mind when you think of the Queen of Cups, but stay with me here. We know the Cups suit is all about emotions right? And who is more emotional than Bridget Jones, I mean really?

So the vodka shooting Bridget is probably more like a Queen of Cups reversed card. The emotional wreck. The stalker. The girl who obsesses compulsively about romance, love, has crushes on six guys at once and can't get a proper date with any of them. She drinks too much and this is totally a reversed cups issue, along with depression and all those 'upside down emotions'. The cups people are super emo and their watery vibes are not only symbolic - tears, crying in the bath, wine, beer and vodka. It's all very reversed cups.

The Queen of Cups has a huge tendency to get obsessive about stuff. Men, women, relationships, friendships, family, any of the emotional stuff. They thrive on relationships, and when things aren't going well in that area of their lives it feels as if their lives are falling apart. And this Queen without her King?! OMG please don't even get her started.

While the Queen of Pentacles is going about her business making a career and a life for herself and the Queen of Wands is off saving her family from anything or anyone that gets in the way, the Queen of Cups is most likely to be complaining about how she doesn't have a boyfriend. Career?! She only goes to work because she fancies her boss!

But the Queen of Cups has a hell of a lot of redeeming features and when she's got her shit together she is one of the most sweetest, warmest, friendliest, charming, kindest, loveliest women you'll ever meet. She'll always help you if you ask for it, and even if you don't! She'd do anything for her friends and family and put up with a serious amount of crap to keep the peace. She's a brilliant peace keeper and her greatest desire in life (apart from getting married) is that everyone gets along. She's a hugger. You won't get away without a huge hug and maybe even a pink cover-stay lipstick print on your cheek. As a friend she's adorable and worth her weight in gold. In a relationship she puts it above anything in the world and will do anything to keep her partner happy. Although this means she can be clingy and a little crazy at times, when she's with someone who gets her, every day is like walking on clouds for the both of you. 

The Queen of Cups is the Queen of intuition. Does she think with her head?! Does she use logic? Oh no, hell no! This girl thinks with her gut all the time, making her intuition bang on as long as she's not drunk. When the love of her life is walking out of her flat she has two choices - let him go and talk to him later, or listen to her gut and run the hell after him now (even in pants).

So whenever you see the Queen of Cups come up in your readings be sure to think of Bridget Jones. Remember how even though she's an emotional wreck she is lovely, warm, friendly, romantic and super intuitive even if she doesn't even know it yet.

Queen of Cups reversed - maybe they would if you weren't so damn obsessed about them! Asking about work? Maybe you need to stop obsessing over one element of your job and get a change in perspective. What if your question was about your spirituality and connection to the Universe? Well, hello! You have awesome intuition so work it!

There are a gazillion ways to read the Tarot, and thinking of Bridge as the Queen of Cups is just one way I've used to get really clear on who the Queen of Cups is and what she's about.
